Quite a few places reporting that Messi has told Barcelona to sign one of Mahrez, Coutinho and Verratti.

Also we are in pole position to sign Sigurdsson as no one else is willing to bid more then £25M for him - I see him as a replacement for Okazaki as an AM.

There aren't any links of any of our other players which is interesting - thought that Ulloa's agent might have been busy getting rumours about him going around. Could it mean he is staying?

Except they're only willing to pay £25m and onky pay Lukaku £90k so bringing Sigurdsson in and having to pay him more isn't going to happen. We have no issue paying him £100k so no I don't believe Everton can compete with us financially.

Also they're in debt and we're not so while they've been taken over, unless they write off their debt they're not going to be able to compete with us because we can literally afford to spend more than them. Same with Spurs who only pay £80k/week.

Also when Everton lose Lukaku they'll be crap and won't be able to compete with us on the pitch either because I don't see them finding a striker to score 15 goals let alone 25.

You are right in that it doesn't mean much ... the Media and the Bookies are stuck in a rut when it comes to transfers ... why would anyone come to Leicester rather than the sleeping giant that is Everton eh? .... well the continuing progressiveness of the club for one thing ... and that we will pay whatever is necessary to secure the players we want for another ...

Reports this morning that Everton won't now be signing Rooney because of his wage demands ... and there was me thinking that money was now no object to them <laugh>

To be fair we couldn't afford Rooney either, he'll probably still be looking for £150k a week, can't imagine him coming any further down seeming hes used to £250k a week.
 
Firstly we wouldn't want Rooney ... but our top earners now get north of £100k a week ... we need to shake off the "humble little Leicester City" tag ... according to Forbes we are now the 19th most valuable football club IN THE WORLD <yikes> ... and Everton are not in the Top 20 :emoticon-0103-cool:

Leicester City are the 19th richest club in the world, according to Forbes

Leicester City named in top twenty richest clubs in the world

City are also the eighth richest Premier League club in the rankings, which are based upon a club's overall valuation.
City were valued at £320 million but top of the list was Manchester United with an incredible valuation of £2.86 billion.
Barcelona were second with £2.82 billion and Real Madrid, who recently won the Champions League title, are third with £2.77 billion.

Sustainability is the key - we have seen the likes of Leeds, QPR and Portsmouth spend big and then fall.

Not really comparable ... Leeds and Portsmouth 'spent' money they never really had ... QPR were a bit of a basket case in that they did spend big, with money they did have ... but on really, really ****e players <laugh>

Premier League tv money is much more now then what it was then. We have our Champions League money and the prestige from winning the Premier League. I cant see their being problems if we spend abit of money

No, im saying that no club outside of the top 6 (probably not even Spurs) will be able to afford him. Nothing to do with us or our wage structure, but he'll be looking for more.

Same with Terry to Bournemouth struggling to get over the line, i don't think these top players understand the gap in wages between the top salaried clubs and the rest of us.

I found it interesting that they're sending him out on loan to improve his form and to get more "European experience". Kind of goes with what I've been saying about our owners ambitions of playing in Europe regularly.

I think it's a good move personally because he's young and has talent and if the club believe in him and think a loan move will make him a better player for us then why not? It's not like we need the money so don't need to sell him. He's got potential at the end of the day so worth not writing him off.
