The first signing of the Shakespeare era is nigh- Sam Hughes, a 20yr old CB from Chester for £125k.

Musa is close to joining Fenabace for around £17M - I fully expect him to turn out like Krameric and hit double figures after finally putting his head down and working.

Chelsea are interested in Mahrez as Hazard trying to leave + is injured now.

Surely one for the U23s, Lets hope he doesn't go down the Jack Barmby route.

Maybe he could be a bencher for 2 more established CBs, like Rob Holding did at Arsenal last year.

Would still want us to aim for Harry Maguire as a more instant first team impact.

He was captaining Chester FC at 19 years old ... not afraid of some responsibility then <ok>

Several French clubs are interested in Mendy according to the Mercury - we have 4 DMs in Ndidi, Amartey, James plus him so can see him leaving if we get the right offer.

Musa doesn't want to leave England - West Brom and Brighton are interested according to his agent.

Juventus are interested in Mahrez - also he says that there has been no offers from Arsenal.

West Brom? Really!? What an odd signing that would be for them

Wouldnt be the worst idea. Loan him to Brighton and see how he adapts and in 12 months we will know if he can cut it or whether we should just cut our losses

Think Mahrez has shot himself in the foot really, by releasing that statement, theres going to be no urgency from teams to try and snap him up as quickly as possible.

Not really - once 1 July come along the merry-go-round will start in earnest ... clubs will want to start shaping their squads and building familiarisation as quick as they can ... you also need to let UEFA know your squads for European competitions ...

I think Mahrez will join one of Barca, Real, Juve, Chelsea or Arsenal at that point ... hoping it's a bidding war and the final fee is north of £40 milion ...<ok>

What? Unless I'm missing something that's a ridiculous fee. Reliable but not great.

Just read deal has been agreed, medical passed and five year deal agreed. Expected to be announced Thursday. It seems Thursdays is when we always announce things.

Also reports coming from Hull that he's passed his medical and fee agreed so I reckon there's some legs in this.

Hope this is true as we clearly need reinforcing in this area. We were also reportedly interested in Ben Gibson who at the moment is a better player so guess that is going nowhere. Also as I understand it he still has a year to go on his contract so how can we sign him now? Thought only players out of contract could negotiate before July 1st?

If you check Gibson and Maguires stats you'll see Magure is better than Gibson in almost every area.

Everton have just signed a goalie for £30 million ... football is a market driven business ... Southampton have put a valuation of £75 milion on Virgil van Dijk ... in the grand scale of things, given his age and how he played last season, I don't think the amounts being quoted for Maguire are extravagant tbh ...
