Agreed, this is where the multi-club stuff clearly helps us out by getting at least some of his wages off our books. He'll be 31 and going into the last year of his contract next summer so we won't get much of a fee for him even if he has a great season. They’ve had months to make a real offer. We obviously think he’ll have another goal scoring run like last season and someone else with buy him for more than what they were offering. Probably not close to what we were asking as his contract ticks down but more than their stupid time wasting bids
Or this might flush them out ?
That said - team behind him will be weaker so he might not do as well
Awaiting the furious reaction from people assuming this is us being bitten by the multi club model. I don’t see it this way. We are avoiding having to sell at what we consider below market rate
Selling for what they offered will actually negatively impact PSR anyway as I’m pretty sure it would show as an accounting loss (as well as it just being a headline loss anyway)
In fairness to Trabzonspor, Turkish clubs don't seem to pay particularly big fees and I've seen reports suggesting what they offered for Onuachu would have made him their club record signing. Their current record fee paid only seems to be about 7 million euros.
