Good window but still really missing that elusive goalscorer and some creativity in the final third.

Good to see players wanting to come here from bigger teams and there being a good team spirit. A win against Brentford would be perfect.
Worth noting that it’s not just us. It occurs at all levels. Talksport were talking about how Arsenal still haven’t signed a number 9. And of course neither have Chelsea. Other clubs are short in this area as well. Although in many other cases it’s more having limited options beyond the first choice

Hmm, given their owners include a certain Tom Brady they clearly have financial clout behind them.
He's a symbolic 'owner', not really putting any money in or owning any tangible share amount. Common tactics for hedge funds trying to be relevant and more cuddly - see JJ Watt at Burnley

Broja on loan to Everton with a 30m option. Currently out with an Achilles injury (I think I read might have been up to 12 week out)

This figure is now being reiterated on talksport so suggests it might actually be this high. That’s more than we paid for Archer. I think we’d have been fuming if we paid that for this guy. No wonder it’s so hard finding strikers

I thought the 25m for the non-scoring Burnley striker was mad (that one didn’t happen though)

Ipswich lost Reiss Nelson and Armando Broja in the final 20 minutes of the window. Nelson going to Fulham on loan instead and Everton hijacked their move for Broja - loan and compulsory purchase in 2025 for £30m.
It seems more like they walked away from Broja but were gazumped for Nelson

I honestly think Ipswich have had a pretty **** window. Clarke may be a good buy, but I don't see enough goals in their team. The only player they've signed who's proved he can do it in the PL is Phillips. And unlike us and Leicester, they had no PL experience beforehand.

You could make the same point about goals for us

I'd say Ipswich's window was mixed.

Clarke, I'm confident, will be the next Bowen. Greaves was arguably the best CB in the Championship last season. Hutchinson was great for Ipswich last season, and they've done well to get him back. I like Szmodics.

Phillips though is a risk, because it depends whether they're getting the Leeds Phillips or the West Ham Phillips.

Muric is an awful keeper, total waste of money. O'Shea and Johnson are very average defenders. They better hope that Davis remains fit, such that they never need to use Townsend. Going in so big on Delap is a massive gamble, and I'm not at all convinced by it yet.

I know nothing about Cajuste.

True but Archer is clearly a good finisher and Diaz did get 6 in 14 games for Sheffield United last season. At the end of the day both us and Ipswich have had to be shrewd with signing players but I'd much rather have our squad than theirs.

I think I saw someone else post this but we are on 26 players that would need to be registered. Assuming Cornet happens

So at least one needs to be cut
Surprised Manning is still here.

Candidates to not be registered:

Bazunu (due to injury)
ABK (if a move happens)
Sulemana
Onuachu

Also shows how tight our squad is. Basically no room for anyone else unless they are under 21. Might also explain why the Brazilian striker wasn’t pushed for. Something to look at for January

Fair play SR.

Recruitment and decision making up until now has been mostly pretty ****e. But this window seems to have shown they’ve learned a lot on the job. And are willing to splash some cash.

We've also recouped about 45/50Million too.
Likely to be more with potential moves to the leagues still open.
