TBH I'm less concerned about that than I am about him playing 3 CB'S to fit Stephens into the line up. We really didn't need 3 CB'S today.
Not sure about that. Forest had 23 shots on goal (which I think is the most in the PL today), 8 of which were on target (again I think this is the most in the PL today).

Perhaps we need 4 CBs in the next league game?

Tbf I think that was more the defence getting utterly besieged because of our vacant midfield.

I think they (and McCarthy) mostly did well with the sheer quantity of ****e that came their way, if it hadn't been for Sugawara taking the ball out of McCarthy's hands we would have jammed our way to a point today.

THB needs passing lessons, but thats a different matter.

Well yeah, I'm only messing around. But it would have been a very lucky point. Apart from the goal I'm fairly sure one of Forest's players shinned one wide from about 3 yards in front of an open goal.

Okay, here's a mad suggestion.

If PSG are buying Osimhen and/or another striker, and presuming they are keeping Ramos as well. How about a loan pitch for Kolo Muani. He's the kind of striker profile that would be great for us as a 9.

Ramos is out for the season I think, got injured in pre season. May be wrong on exact length of injury but he’s out for awhile

If we have to go cheap, how would people feel if we reinforced by getting Wee Man back for the left, and playing BBD through the middle.

For me it's nowhere near enough, but it would make more sense than today.

I think this is exactly what will happen. We clearly want Fraser back to add to our “not good enough for the PL” group. The question is how that will happen, I think he’ll be our second PL loan in the end.

The question is whether there is another attacking player coming in as well

Who else isn’t quite good enough for the Prem though? Building this team for next season’s Championship campaign sure is tricky!

I can't see that Fraser would be coming here on loan. I do think he arrives before the deadline but not on loan. He's out of contract next summer and a loan would require him to be offered a new deal at Newcastle to avoid losing him as a free agent and there's not a chance in hell that Eddie Howe is doing that for Wee Man

Loan with us paying some of his wages for the year rather than Newcastle just paying off his contract seems the most likely outcome to me.

Maybe we will blink closer to deadline and pay a fee for him but so far we don’t seem willing to do that so a loan seems like a fair compromise

If we were willing to loan Fraser you would have thought it would have happened by now.
If he wants to cling on to his contract then we can get him on a free for our promotion campaign

Porto just signed Samu from Atletico for £12.7m.

Now there's value.
Not for premier league clubs. It’s another one of those deals that is much cheaper between European clubs but they see the cash signs when a PL club comes. Chelsea had bid €35m. But that might have been for PSR reasons to allow the Gallagher deal

Also Porto are well known for developing players and are basically automatically in the champions league every year. We can’t compete with them for players really regardless of value

Could be a whopping sell-on clause inserted too perhaps.

Thats only for 50% of his rights, would be €30m for all of him. PL clubs aren’t allowed to part own players since Tevez/Mascharano
I didn’t realise deals like that still happened. Makes a lot more sense. An Madrid don’t need to full sale anymore

Porto have an obligation to buy the other 50% after this season I believe. No idea if the fee can fluctuate based on performance.

The deals are still common in South America and Portugal. There are agencies/business who buy 10% of loads of u18 players in the same way you might buy a stock in a business. Hoping to hit massive if they make it big

he must be keen on the move for them to keep going back. Be nice if we could generate the funds somehow
