Phillips to Ipswich is potentially a great signing. Very jealous of that.
I am currently envious of any signing.
I'm not particularly. He was awful at West Ham last season. It could be a good signing if he can regain his Leeds form but I'm happy with Downes thanks (and given Ipswich made an offer for him it suggests they would have preferred him as well).
My guess would be that since he hadn't played regularly for two years, it was tough for him to get up to speed, and Moyes/West Ham expected too much too soon.
That's because he was so bad in the games he did start! Also, we don't want to use up one of our loan slots on a position we don't really need as a first team option. We do need back up for Downes but Phillips wouldn't join as back up anyway.
Was hoping Ipswich would go into the season with the unbelievably **** Morsy as their starting CM for the lols, guess not
