As I’ve said before I think we would’ve needed a huge overhaul window to have a chance of staying up. This isn’t Fifa or football manager so that just wasn’t going to happen. I’ve been consistent since about 10 games into last season in my belief that Martin + PL + Saints = disaster. I will of course see if he changes things and proves me wrong, but for now I think it’s fair to think we are very likely to go down, I don’t think that is pessimistic, just realistic.
I am hoping that the Premier League ban passing out from the back and make a rule change that it is mandatory to pass more than 40 yards by the goalkeeper. That will keep us in games
Miovski to Girona for €8m. Says he wanted Champs League football so maybe we were in for him and he turned us down. Surely the fee wouldn’t have been an issue, we of course may not have been interested now we are in the PL
Im intrigued about this. We got away with it (in the main) last season because teams wouldn’t press us much and if they did they weren’t good enough to take advantage every time when they did win it back. The amount of times we lost the ball in the last 10 mins of games when teams decided to press us compared to the previous 80 when they didn’t was very noticeable This year teams aren’t going to sit off us as we haven’t got enough to scare them so they will press from the word go and they will have good enough players to exploit us when we do lose the ball in our own half and are out of shape defensively. Should be a laugh if nothing else
Hopefully someone is. I think we are in trouble if he stays. We assumed he would leave and spent £7m on Sugawara. If KWP stays then we wont be able to spend elsewhere.
TBH I think I'd rather take the 20mill at this point. Sugawara looks a very good player and we don't need 2 really good RB's (yes, I know KWP could play on the left).
I bet there’s a lot going on in the “bid preparation” factory that is the St Mary’s boardroom. Printer working overtime. Calculator buttons getting mashed. I hope Panathinaikos are “braced” for the offer.
Ipswich were close to signing him earlier in the window but chose Delap instead. Can’t say I know much about him
Quick gander at transfer market, He has scored 23 goals and registered 9 assists in 44 games. He is 24 years old, playing in the Greek 1st division. He's both footed and is 6ft 2. Out and out CF too.
Had a breakout season last year. Quite tall and powerful (but also with some skill, unlike the other tall, powerful striker bloke). Very much more of a Ricky type player than a Crouch. I'd be pretty happy if we managed this one. (Plus he wears #7).
Again bullshit. You obviously didn't like what I said so are making it to be something it wasn't. I was following on from previous jokey posts on this thread (off topic threads that you've allowed without comment BTW) so what would be the point of putting it on the politics thread? As has been pointed out, there are plenty of examples of political comments on other threads that you don't remove. And this is the problem with your modding. If those other posts are about Brexit, Tories, or just about anything you agree with politically it stays without comment from you. You are biased about how you apply the rules. For anyone else reading this, it's not about the joke or how funny it was or wasn't. It's about double standards. In the joke I said "lefties" not in political point scoring but as a reference to a previous post sometime ago. Nothing worse than that.
That's fine. You may have a point. But it's a really dull hill to die on, and I think we'd all rather be reading about transfer rumours on here.
Well football insider is one of the worst sources out there so I’ll take it with a pinch of salt. Maybe being linked due to Ipswich earlier in the summer so adding 2+2 and getting 5
Predictable, but I'm not too fussed what you all would rather read about. I'll decide what I post, even if it does get deleted by the Stasi. I didn't expect any support, so nothing lost there.
