I dont get your logic. We have no idea how long this has been in the pipeline for the club. He's been highly rated and a few clubs have been sniffing. Saying "unwanted Liverpool youngster" like we're shopping in the bargain bin is silly. I doubt its a case of "oh well we didn't get Kamara. Tan pick up the phone to the scousers and see what offcuts they'll let us borrow"

Come on now

I'm just so underwhelmed with all these kids. Excluding Hughes. Get we need to have youth but, We already had a lot of youth ourselves and released so many of them them. I dunno. I just want to be excited with a signing like we've been promised. I can't have my "Socks blown off" with Doak from Liverpool like Acun promised. To me it does seem like we've jumped into the bargain bucket to get someone in. It just does.

Genuinely, who are you expecting? We are Hull City we aren't at the forefront for major incomings.

Not to mention this kid is literally on the verge of a Scotland call up. I'm not saying it has to be a wow signing but he's not bargain basement

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Bedia or Puerta converted to a permanent once we know what wingers and strikers we're going for.

Theres a chance we was keen to get them done but wanted to keep some flexibility with cash for Strikers and Wingers.

I was expecting Conway or Rak Sakyi for examples. Thomas - Asante. Keiffer Moore. Yo they're sinister reason as to why these signings broke down when we were so close to most of them. You can't be close to so many good championship signings but, they all change their minds at the last minute. Why did they?

They keep hyping up the transfers so this type of signing does feel anticlimatic.

After getting £13m for Philogene I think it's completely fair to have expected more than £1.5m spent on wingers.

Exactly. £13M for Jaden. £18M for Greaves and we lost out on Keiffer Moore for example and Rak Sakyi for another

Without knowing individual reasons its hard to say. Could be wages, proximity to home, chances of being promoted or they just like the colour of the kit? I dont know and nobody knows. We've attracted some decent looking talent since a lot of those "rejected" (FWIW I dont think Conway or Rak-Sakyi did they just probably went with their preferences as opposed to BTA and Moore who backed out last minute).

Barring Carvalho, Zaroury and Giles we signed no-one with a higher status last season. We had players like Delap who had underperformed elsewhere and Morton who had an ok spell at Blackburn. We also signed Philogene who showed flashes at Cardiff but nothing near the level that he then went on to reach with us.

Fact is, we are a club that needs to bring in unpolished gems and create them into something better than they are when they join. Hughes fits into that mould to. Despite all his plaudits and praise he's very raw in terms of champ experience.

Bet you are gutted with this news, spoilt your weekend even

Serious note, any idea why, that's about the 4th deal that's fell through for him
I'm going to guess....wage demands - reportedly why he didn't extend at Leeds, and i'd imagine that its why we couldn't come to an arrangement too. Some players / agents have a rather hyper inflated view of themselves

Why? How much would you like them to spend? We could spend £2.5m on Kamara and he ends up being our best player.

Not to mention we needed to spread the funds around a whole squad. We can't be spending huge fees on multiple players we had to play our cards right. We signed Mehlem for relative peanuts and he's looked like one of our brightest players so far for god sake.
