Actually, Iv'e probably not felt so comfortable about the spine of the team for years. I don't know what went on in terms of recruitment with Rosie and where the blame lies but the market would close and I always felt weak in certain areas, usually the midfield. We've changed a lot but feels like we are in a great position to attack the next couple of years, not just the next 6 months.

They're 4 players that jump out to me

Greaves, Seri, Tufan and Doc.

Yes I know Greaves wanted prem football (That's the apparent excuse) but, Hughes and him would be scary. The new midfield is weak it's not as strong as Mehlem, Seri and Tufan would've been. And Doc was definitely one worthy of a spot on the bench or as a squad player. I will stuck with the opinion we let too many go. Admittedly Greaves had to but, the other 3. They've left holes.

Are we strong enough to mount a challenge?

Are our new players good enough?

Chris Bedia - Dunno yet
Oscar Zambrano - Dunno yet
Mason Burstow - Dunno yet
Charlie Hughes - Dunno yet
Liam Millar - Probably
Finley Burns - Dunno yet
Anthony Racioppi's - Looks like he's got a mistake in him.
Marvin Mehlem - Probably
Cody Drameh - Dunno yet
Ryan Giles - No.

Plus a couple more possibly to join the Dunno yets.

I'm hanging fire before I risk a couple of quid on whether we walk the league or not.

I agree with a lot of what you've said with the new signings. Drameh though is one that will probably be good. Definitely liked him in pre season

That's the excuse we're lead to believe. I seriously don't believe everyone we sold or released wanted to go. If that many wanted to go. We need to ask why

Look at the players who have gone, their personal circumstances and where they have gone, why wouldn't they want to leave. This is the real world, they players aren't city fans

If they kept those players the club would not get promoted and the value of the team would decrease, but with the young players brought in they may well get promoted and the player values will increase and the club will be worth a lot more.

But Silva got 15 goal contributions in 2500 PL mins so it's a weird point. Omur gets into a lot of good positions yet consistently struggles with his end product.

As a fanbase we can't complain about not being ruthless enough in front of goal, yet continue to heavily rely on individuals who aren't ruthless enough.

Lokilo was hammered for his **** G/A in half a season, yet the perception around Omur is completely different (he's a better player though).
But that’s the reason why he plays for Man City and not us. Because he can do all the things Omur does and scores and sets them up at the same time.

“The striker that we're going to bring will show everybody how serious we are in this league and again I thank our fans for believing in us," the Turkish businessman explained in an extended chat with Hull Live.

"Now they see step by step, that we started making a team not based on loan players but based on permanent players, so if we can get the striker that we want - the one I'm trying everything to do it, but it's not the easy thing - if we can get him, the whole league will understand how serious we are in trying to write a success story.

Maybe the change the dynamic striker is still on

A big name incoming? What kind of seriousness we are talking about here? Playoff seriousness, promotion seriousness, we are not gonna relegate seriousness?

Acun's given me that tingly feeling again...

Wanted to know about this striker and looks like it's been radio silence as its been rumbling along whilst Oscar sorts himself.

And without a single name rumoured really!

Doc barely played so not a very big hole in the greater scheme. And if he wants minutes and not to sit on a championship bench then he's in the right place for his career.

At 33 and with the more intense style, I think Seri knew his time would be limited here this season also.

Tufan, I'd have kept. He's the only one I'd question from your list, but we appear to have a near like for like in Mehlem already as replacement. Think it was probably the last chance to sell Tufan and still get a fee.

It must be a good thing, right? Rumoured players usually don't end up here, sometimes even managers (Pedro Martins case).
