That's all perfectly valid but we also drew with Ipswich 3-3 at home and Leicester 2-2, beat Southampton 2-1and could have been more. We were a young team, you weren't going to get consistent performances and progression.

True, but they didn't turn up and sit deep and so we created chances, which kinda proves my point. But despite playing well against Leicester and Ipswich, we didn't get the win. In fact, we rarely won at home, beating only 3 of the top 17, and none of the top 9.

Yep we definitely struggled. I just didn't see it as a terminal issue. Just not convinced we'll be any better off under Walter who struggles with the same scenarios.

Maybe he will, although it's hard to tell from at this point when we have about 3 attacking players in the entire squad. Fingers crossed for some movement in the next couple of days

So…

the forwards we have are not good enough

we aren’t going to be signing any real quality upfront

Will Jarvis is the real deal

we look desperate

Tick all that apply
He was by far City's best, and top-scoring, forward during the 2023 pre-season games and has been a roaring success at Shelbourne. Could never understand why we hadn't recalled him sooner, I reckon he'll be ahead of Oscar.

I did say a few days ago that we need to recall Jarvis now. Not saying he’s our saviour but we literally have zero wingers fit and available.

If people start moaning about recalling Jarvis the worlds gone mad. Everybody wants him back, then he comes back it’s a panic solution.
Pre season is irrelevant because he’s been playing over there.

I wouldn't say it's irrelevant to wish he'd had some time to get up to speed with tactics but at least he'll have a week.

Do you not think it's a panic solution to cover our non existent squad. Whichever way you look at it, it's really poor planning. Recalling a loan from a pub league.

I am just happy that we have 11 players for weekend. Put my expectation well below, so I will not be disappointed, might be overjoyed if we win somehow.

Longman has dislocated his shoulder. Jarvis will get a chance - he’s in mid season with Shelbourne so at least no fitness issues.

Jarvis is pacey, direct and a goal threat. Ultimately we’ve paid the price by letting him have the chance to play (and score) in European football before bringing him back.
