We were though. There's nothing wrong to admit but, Liam was learning. The squad was learning yes we'd probably have gotten frustrated but, there's no question liam had the ability to attract players here. Why that was is a mystery but, it's clear Tim doesn't have that. I'd rather have a boring decent team than a rubbish apparent exciting one without exciting players.
No you don't. There are different ways to describe 'entertainment' and it differs from person to person, and for the record i have never enjoyed a game we have lost. Maybe the Cup final, but that wasnt enjoyment, that was pride because deep down I was gutted. I doubt if City, or any team for that matter, have never threatened to score a goal at least once in 90 mins. But for example, if it were Hull City v whoever was the best team on the planet at that time, and we held them to a 0-0 draw over 90 mins, and never got out of our own half, I would feel as though I have been entertained, not that it mattered because we wouldn't have lost.
We were more entertaining away than at home, think I did 17 home game last year saw us win 5! That certainly didn't help the perception
I don’t think Tim rates Macca and will let him go to Blackburn once we have Burns and Hughes in. Burns will get opportunities as even with Jones and Hughes as a pairing they will not go the whole season uninjured or suspended. Also opportunities due to loss of form and cup games. I could see a scenario were Burns will play 20 games which Man City would be happy with after playing 40 at League 1.
I mean honestly, what's the point having an exciting manager and set up but, the players themselves aren't exciting?
Wotcha, noob here. Football doesn't need to be "entertaining" per se, but you don't win football matches if you don't create any chances. When you're a team that harbours promotion dreams and you're playing at home to a bottom half team who are happy to take a point and set up with a solid disciplined defence, if your attempts to coax them into a press by passing the ball between your back 5 for 45 minutes doesn't work, you need a Plan B, and we genuinely struggled with that last season. Too many short passes, seemingly afraid to skip a man out. Sometimes you just need to spray it out wide to the man in space on the wing before the defence has time to come across and reset. We lost at home to 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th because they didn't want to play our game, and we scored one goal across the 4 games.
That's all perfectly valid but we also drew with Ipswich 3-3 at home and Leicester 2-2, beat Southampton 2-1and could have been more. We were a young team, you weren't going to get consistent performances and progression.
Mainly because they were trying to win the game and not parking the bus, against which we had no answer
Hull city have confirmed we've called back Will Jarvis. We definitely need him. Hope he's good enough. We'll see
So… the forwards we have are not good enough we aren’t going to be signing any real quality upfront Will Jarvis is the real deal we look desperate Tick all that apply
