As much as the current situation is concerning (20 out, 2 new faces in, 6 days till k.o., etc), I think a few are now getting rather ahead of themselves with this speculation!!
If Hughes's release clause is £5mill, then tbf that's quite a chunk of our money / ffp on one player, so I can sort of understand if we are trying to get him for less. However, we desperately need someone like him, and he's likely to only increase in value in future years, so I'd rather we just paid the asking price and have done before someone else steps in (again).

So the training ground development was all a lot of hot air then, and the one family. He had a go at promotion, we didn’t pull it off. He lost interest. We’ve also just sold our two best assets. Feel like some will have had the wool pulled over our eyes a bit. At least I’m a cynic and a pessimist at heart. In some ways we’re in a better situation than when Allan’s left, but then we had no debt and low running costs.
The builders are still working on the present training ground. :emoticon-0138-think

Losing McVities is a strange one but it’s not a make or break deal. It was less than £2m a season and Safiport won’t have got it for free either.

Something does seem off. Everything is really, really quiet.

A week to go until the season starts. What a mess.

Im now about 70/30 in favour of Acun not being at the Bristol game. If he isn’t then I think people really start to worry

5m on a 5 year deal is only 1m of our spend. It's not that much in isolation.

Well I messaged Tully after he posted that tweet to ask him what it’s about. He mentioned the release is £5m and we are at about £4.5m for a bid.

He mentioned that Mehlem is a Walter signing and the brain team are dragging on with signings for whatever reason. Mentioning the McVities deal pulling out hasn’t helped.

I know I’ve spoken with you in messages so it’s all really odd right now. Something doesn’t sit right

If that is true, then it is really concerning. Haggling over £500,000 on what would be a long contract anyway so the fee would be amortised seems unreasonably stubborn.

Yep it's essentially haggling over 100k hitting our books this year. Reeks of wanting to be seen to make bids on players without wanting to buy them.

Reminds me under the Allams of supposed interest in Zohore and a few others for big fees.

It was just bizarre because it was on the new training range.

£2m a year for a club with a revenue of £20m is quite a chunk.

I find it a bit baffling that suddenly ‘we’re in a mess and Acun wants to leave’. There is no evidence of this and no ITK comments that suggest it. All that’s happened since last week is that we haven’t signed many players.

If this was the end of the transfer window, I’d understand the nervousness and speculation.

I love your optimism, I’m usually very optimistic and positive but do you not honestly think that things seem to have shifted with Acun/Tan?

Well the suggestion seems to be he lost interest after that given the reaction to the sacking.
In a room of 10 people , you can’t keep everyone happy. So he’s got no chance with 16k. He needs to just crack on and show why it was the right decision, at the minute those doubters have a point.

he isn’t going to always keep every fenerbache fan happy either

I would argue that the three most reliable ‘ITK’ people on here probably wouldn’t divulge that information anyway until they believed it was credible enough, precisely because others on here would call them ‘bullshitters’, ‘bed-wetters’ or having some sort of negative agenda.

I would wager it was mostly the reaction on social media that hurt his ego more than anything else.

He's told everyone previously he reads all this social media ****e.

This site is bad enough but some of the facebook forums are just constant criticism.

Personally I can't see what more he could have done as an Owner with his limited resources to bring the club success, but half the fans still critical of him for sacking Rosenior.

I really wouldn't blame him for taking a step back.
