He’s a fantastic player, but if players like Taylor Harwood Bellis who come through Man City’s academy and have England youth experience go for £20m a year ago then maybe that’s just the market.

Doesn't that actually indicate the very thing we're saying - that young CBs with a decent level of experience should be going for 20m+? THB has less experience but more pedigree, isn't left footed, but Man City have a stronger negotiating position. Webster went from Brighton for around 20m a few years ago for instance.

A few years ago clubs weren't getting points deducted for ffp breeches. I think that the majority of clubs are on the cusp is suppressing this year's market. Disappointing when it comes to fees for outgoings, but we should benefit from the flip side of that when applied to incomings.

Two years left on his deal, team of the season, captain of the club, over 150 appearances, and still young and left footed. No matter how you try to spin it, no matter how much of the 15m is up front, it's still a **** fee. And saying it's a **** fee does not constitute a meltdown. If we'd sold him on the final day of the window for 50m it'd be annoying but it'd be nice to have the 50m and he's a defender not a goal scorer like Bowen was so wouldn't be as crucial to replace. As Brady says, it seems pretty revealing about our financial position.

Some of us were actually overwhelmingly positive last season, and were called out for being positive. Now we're supposedly always complaining.
From what I know, Ipswich are the only team to put an offer in at the published prices…,that sort of tells me he isn’t rated by the other 19 pl clubs as highly as he is on here. If Ipswich are the only club to offer what they’ve offered then that’s what he’s worth

So keep him then. We know Philogene is going so one big sale should be more than enough to keep our heads above water

Why keep him Ipswich have or are giving us the way to bringing in 2 or 3 decent players for selling him to them my opinion is we have had their pants down.

Philogene is on his way back to the UK to resign for Villa, we get £13m after the sell-on has been deducted.

That is not to bad as we are sort of letting them have him back they may also send others this way if they have anyone we are interested in it's worked well for both sides, they would not have got that amount if he had not come to us as they would not have played him.

Yep, they effectively paid us £8m to develop him. Can’t say that’s not objectively a good deal.

The compete melt down by the usual suspects on here if we'd sold him late in the window would have been massive... But when it's done early, people have an issue with the fee etc. I think we just need to accept certain people have issues no matter what and will just always find something to complain about.
...which Kalman is winning comfortably.
