Hopefully the small fee includes a reasonable sell on. He ain't staying at Ipswich for more than a few years I reckon.
This guy seemed to think 35m for the two was unrealistically low for the pair: But maybe he's just over valuing them?
I would say those that think 25-30m are. hitting between 20-23m with add-ons feels about right to me although I guess theres a slight discount for getting the deal done early.
They're worth what people are willing to pay, the deal also may have been structured to see more cash upfront for example, which may be a preference for us as a club... Who knows
You mean the week where I watched you instead pick fights with PLT and Drew? Even this reaction to me pointing out you also thought 35m was too low for the pair and are now trying to tell people they were unrealistic to expect more than 15m speaks volumes about you. You love the attention of being ITK but can't hack being wrong.
The club needs to think long and hard how it’s looking at the moment Recalling a player who was out on loan like it’s a new signing was embarrassing enough. We need around 15 players Still ****ing waiting.
Possibly, but we don't know the full extent of the deal, how it's structured, how much upfront, sell on % etc. also... If it's so cheap, why didn't other teams come in and outbid? I certainly would have liked more, as I'm sure we all would
Baz was reporting yesterday in the 1904 special that he has been told the numbers are a bit more than those in the public domain. I suspect we won't actually know until it shows on the appropriate set of accounts.
Nar, I'm wrong quite often and have no issue with that. What I post about stuff I hear and my own personal opinions are completely different things
Yeah for sure but I do think if we had of been in a position to hold out a bit we could have done better, there's clearly more interest but waiting for a bit of a domino effect as certain clubs are just not quite ready to do business. I'm sure there's merit in just getting the business done and sorting ourselves out now.
The compete melt down by the usual suspects on here if we'd sold him late in the window would have been massive... But when it's done early, people have an issue with the fee etc. I think we just need to accept certain people have issues no matter what and will just always find something to complain about.
That fee is **** Addons dont help now And its probably staying up related I wonder if we are more in the **** financially than thought
Two years left on his deal, team of the season, captain of the club, over 150 appearances, and still young and left footed. No matter how you try to spin it, no matter how much of the 15m is up front, it's still a **** fee. And saying it's a **** fee does not constitute a meltdown. If we'd sold him on the final day of the window for 50m it'd be annoying but it'd be nice to have the 50m and he's a defender not a goal scorer like Bowen was so wouldn't be as crucial to replace. As Brady says, it seems pretty revealing about our financial position. Some of us were actually overwhelmingly positive last season, and were called out for being positive. Now we're supposedly always complaining.
He’s a fantastic player, but if players like Taylor Harwood Bellis who come through Man City’s academy and have England youth experience go for £20m a year ago then maybe that’s just the market.
