He's a good player and would improve us but it feels similar to the Turkish signings we've made in the past. I don't think he'd stick around very long, he'd cost a good chunk in both transfer fees and wages, he's at the wrong age and we're almost certain to lose money on him. Surely we'd be better off trying to sign somebody younger (around 22-24) and grow and develop them. Hopefully not having to shell out as big wages.

I agree with all of this btw. I like Yokuşlu as a player but he’s 30 now and some West Brom fans have said that his legs are starting to go a bit. I know 30 isn’t old but I do think we could get a more athletic defensive midfielder who is younger and would cost the same if not less and would have more re-sale value.

That’s why I bang on about players like Cheick Condé and other players in minor European leagues. They’re stand-outs in their respective divisions and they would cost €3-4 million but there is potential for them to triple in value if they take well to the Championship. I think Condé also fits the mould of what Walter has said he wants in his midfielders as he’s exceptional defensively but also good at carrying the ball out with powerful runs.

Didn't realise McBurnie is only 28!
A proper, proven striker, and one with a bit of 'nous' about him.
Tbf, not a bad signing if it happens.
I guess we'll have to overlook him being born in Leeds, playing for Sheff Utd and Scotland!
