If Greaves goes to Ipswich. Good luck to him, but will that mean there's one there surplus to requirement? eg Luke Woolfenden...ie swap deal plus money incoming to the HCAFC coffers?

I created a bit of an X furore with Ipswich fans saying for Greaves it was like a sideways step rather than going to an established EPL club which he should aim for, and would be surprised if he went there.<laugh>

No one seems to be addressing the elephant in the room here.

Regardless of what Acun thinks, the manager and his coaching staff obviously thought Allsop was a better keeper than Pandur; indeed Pandur's stock fell so low that he was pushed off the bench.

Yet it seems to be a given that he's going to be not only our number one keeper, but a top six one at that.

Optimistic at best, downright foolhardy at worst.

I have a feeling that Liam favoured Allsop, (1) he brought him in and (2) he favoured a player that could play better with his feet than be a shot stopper. Like I said in my previous post, it would be interesting to get Barry Richardson take on it.

At the end of the day, we will get to see now who was right and wrong when the new season starts. If Pandur played for 2 season in the top flight in Holland, he cannot be a bad keeper, so I guess we will find out soon enough.

If it was going to get done, you'd imagine it would have been by now. It's gone very quiet and it seems like he'd rather go Boro. I can't see Walter agreeing to sign him either as it's a massive chunk of our budget when we need to prioritise attackers.

the manager hasn’t officially started yet , player will be away on his holidays , big chunk of the budget yes but the budget will also massively increase when and it’s almost nailed on greaves gets sold

Considering there's an agreement on the fee and at least a verbal one on wages, there's not much to slow it down unless any of the parties aren't too keen (which certainly seems that way). After his loan spell, there's no way I'd be paying £4m even if we wanted to keep him, his value has dropped (probably a fair bit) in the last few months. At £2m for example, it's probably a solid signing.
Still one of the best attacking left backs in the league he’s 100% worth 4m he goes to boro and I would suggest we will be kicking ourselves at the end of next season

Making my weekly visit to forums, any exciting news/transfer rumour other than GK Allsop is leaving? Did coach finally sign, or Tan still working on paperwork?

Report this afternoon that Southampton and West Ham are both after Philogene.
He is not ready for the Premier league for me. Needs another year of being coached. Very entertaining but very frustrating young man. His lack of awareness of his options when he has the ball at his feet sets him way back from the likes of Bowen who would be the type of player he needs to win a shirt from if he went to West Ham. He also looked to have lost his confidence by the end of the season which is a temporary issue but another indication he has some growing to do.

Just looking through the squad on the website.
I am assuming the likes of Wood & Fleming are not wanted and Greaves & Jaden will probably go.
We need around 15+ players.
Huge job on the managers hands.

As fun as the ride was. I’ll die on the hill that January should’ve been spent adding some permanent pieces to build with in coming years. It’s another summer of near enough total rebuild meanwhile similar clubs like Coventry and Boro have a decent core that they can add to.

We tried to challenge in a harder champ season than the coming one. It may have been FFP reasons we couldn’t and only relied on loans. Best hope Pandur and Omur progress and we have assets out of them to build on
