I suppose it's a relative term and he perhaps meant he can't go out and splurge £40m on new talent, but I'd be very surprised if we just signed loan players this season. If we did, I'd expect them to be Boyd style loans where we sign them at the end of the season.

It doesn't say we'll only sign loans, it just says we don't have the option of throwing a fortune at it and we'll be utilising the loan market again.

We obviously aren’t just signing loans, can only have 5 in a match day squad and we need probably 8/10 signings to be competitive.

Yes, you’re right about George. Played in the same team as him for fishtrades, I was 15 think he was probably in his fourties’!!!

The Bulgarian defensive mid Andrian Kraev, who we were tentatively linked with in April, has recently been linked with Hamburg and Hannover. He’s out-of-contract at Levski Sofia so would be available on a free transfer as he’s refused to sign a new deal. I wonder if he’s a player Walter would be interested in. We need a defensive midfielder of that exact profile and German media are reporting Hamburg have been tracking him for some time and Walter only left them in February.

Free transfer, that makes sense and saves us a fortune. No chance. Darnborough has been playing tiddlywinks for the last 6 months.

Erik Exposito (the top scorer in the Polish Extraklasa) has been released by Śląsk Wrocław. 19 goals and 6 assists this season. (Turbo was third highest, he had a hell of a season all things considered).

Legia Warsaw want Exposito, but I reckon we would be a better proposition for him.

Marin Ljubičić at LASK in Austria would be a good shout too if we can’t get Delap.
