KLP wasn't ready. But he's now made for life. If Philogene gets an offer. anything ike KLPs he'd be mad not to go (unfortunately)Very true
Philo just needs to look at bowen and klp
He needs to show he can do it another season and regular game time

Not sure Philogene is yet. He's 18 months younger than Greaves, has only 2 seasons of 30+ games behind him and has played only a third the number of games as Greaves. He also hasn't yet developed the game nous and decision making that is needed at a higher level. It would benefit Jaden to have another season with us I feel.

This notion that players are made for life with a single PL contract is really over the top.
At the very least it will set them up for life, if done properly they would be made for life....
It really doesn't, even though as you say it should.
If you can't set yourself up for life of a prem contract then there's something wrong. A 10k a week contract for 3yrs is approx 1.5m before any bonus or signing on fee, commercial deals or endorsements etc ( yes all don't get it ). That's more then enough to build yourself a property portfolio, invest in stock&shares etc.... and 10k a week for 3yrs is extremely low for a prem deal. The average is approx £3m a year.
The only reason you wouldn't be set up for life, is it the individual pisses it up the wall so to speak
A 6 year PL contract. Minimum. Made for life. This notion that players are made for life with a single PL contract is really over the top.

Must be why all these ex PL players take jobs in the media. Do it for free for the love of the game.
Seriously though, after tax and all the hangers on and the excess they get used to, a lot of players retire and have very little set aside.
PL wages are far higher than when many of these ex PL media ex players were playing!Must be why all these ex PL players take jobs in the media. Do it for free for the love of the game.

York City have confirmed the departure of former Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City and Rotherham United goalkeeper David Stockdale.
That's through their own personal choices though, not because a prem contract isn't enough to set then up for life....a big difference

And some maybe do it because they love the game and enjoy doing it.
Of course? Did you miss where I said it should set them up?
No, but saw the bit were you said the notion it sets them up for life is over the top.
Because it is. Very few players are set for life when they retire and far more end up bankrupt. Someone like klp being set for life off a single contract is hyperbole. Even if he isn't a loose cannon a lot of that money will be gone by the end of the contract.
Klp's contract will earn him approx £10/11m over the 6yrs. before any bonuses etc are taken into account ( obviously could be more or less but won't be far off ) and if he can't set himself up for life on that even after tax etc then **** me he's ( or anyone who earns that ) an idiot. How on earth you think anyone being paid that amount of money on a single contract isn't set for life is quite staggering even for you.... And saying they should be isn't hyperbole it's just common sense.
Why you're insisting on misreading what I said to turn this into yet another argument is beyond me.
