I've been behind the club throughout a turbulent window, but I have to admit I'm disappointed we didn't bring a striker in.

That being said, overall the squad looks decent and we don't have any glaring holes to fill - we have suitable bodies in all positions.

We still have a largely League 1 defence which will cope well enough as they get used to the new system, providing they can get used to the new system...

Hopefully if the large number of high potential players live up to the hype then we'll be in a strong enough position come January and into next summer, to just bolster the squad with strength in key positions, ie; a permanent DM a quality striker on a permanent and depending how well our defenders perform, replace them as needs be. I'm not convinced they're playing as TW wants them to.

On reflection it's been a good window. Especially when you remember how much dead wood we've shifted and for decent enough fees too. Hopefully the new signings can all adapt to the league and not become another wave of dead wood.

One thing though; Acun and Tan do need to stop overselling as it comes across as a bit naive. Hearts are definitely in the right place.

I'm sticking to my 7.8 / 10 window..

Q. Does Lewie still make the first XI? Giles and Drameh the preferred wing backs? No place in midfield, therefore the bench for the cap.

Not sure the team we formed gives me Walterball vibes, I am more inclined towards RoseniorBall with 0-0 or 1-0s.

I just think he has quite high potential, showed it at academy level and did okay at Charlton. He has all the attributes needed, pace, good technical ability, and works hard. I don’t think we should judge him on his time at Sunderland and he’s coming to the age now where he’s going to put it all together.
I tend to agree, I liked the look of him last week, even though he didn’t see a great deal of the ball but I thought the chance he created for himself showed some ability and was only thwarted by a good save at point blank range. I also think that the fact that Chelsea had him as a youngster, let him go but then bought him back, suggests that he’s got something and maybe he just needs the right environment on and off the pitch for that to blossom.
If that turns out to be the case, hopefully this is the place that it all comes to fruition.

Don't know Coyle has been great so far this season he has taken really well to the TW style of play seems to relish his surges forward and shooting.

I think Coyle's had moments where he's gotten forwards off the ball and has been great when he's done it, but in terms of passing forwards from deep and moving into space progressively I really don't think he's been good at all so far.

There's a lot of players who are going to be stuck in a football limbo for at least a few months now - Chelsea as we know have more quality players than they can fit in a squad and even ourselves haven't sent out on loan some lads who we're not going to ever use (mainly goalkeepers).

It's short-sighted and stunts their development. Morton is a good example. After the session he had with us last year he now needs games at Championship or Premier League level to kick on. As you say, he isn't going to get them. At best he'll be in and out of Liverpool's matchday squad making fleeting appearances off the bench.

There's an argument to be made that a separate loan window should open a day after the permanent transfer window closes and run for a week.

Brilliant idea Ern....

People talking about not bringing in a striker, we've brought 2 in, 3 if you include Kamara !!! None of us know how good or bad they are, yes it would ha e been nice if we'd have got Canon or the other lad, but circumstances and finances dictated we didn't, it is what it is. From what I've seen of us so far we needed some creativity, hopefully we've got that now with the wingers, and additions, it's now down to Walter to get a tune out of them, let the fun begin. As for thise now suggesting we should have kept Oscar, are they the same who were slating him recently ?
For me at least theres more positives then negatives.

The worst part is some are suggesting Aaron ****ing Connolly. Did they watch him play?

There is a reason not one single club has bothered with him this year. He is gash with a bad attitude. I don't get thise sentiment stuff. Connoly and Oscar we are well shot of.

I agree, to me his occasional surging runs forward look to be born out of frustration with the TW system. It's like he's thinking '**** this passing about and going nowhere I'm off up the field where the goal is'.
