Doak seems like a panic loan to me. Acknowledging we probably won't sign Kamara or Inoussa so wanting to quickly get a winger in before 11pm deadline tomorrow. Might be harsh to say it. But, I have.

He's a a talented young boy. Was at Celtic as previously said. He's from my neck of the woods, his Granda died last week, he was Captain and made over 300 appearances for my local club Greenock Morton.

Square peg?, he has played DM and has a higher rating then he does as an AM.

Rating on what, FIFA? He’s a #8. He might’ve played as a defensive mid on occasion but it’s not a long-term solution.

Defensive midfield is such an important position in football and especially the modern game to the extent that the best player in the Premier League and arguably the world right now is a defensive midfielder. It’s a specialist position and not one you should be playing #8s or [HASHTAG]#10s[/HASHTAG] in for any significant length of time.

He has played as a DM and showed he is capable which as it happens a few of the players they are looking at can also play or have played in other positions which looks like the way they are going with this each player can play or cover a number of positions if Zambrano is out Mehlem can play.

When? I've just run a check on the positions he's played in the last 3 seasons. He's played 10 mostly, and box to box no 8 secondary. He's had a few games out wide but never a deep lying midfielder.

I've never been a big fan of Henderson, but **** did England miss him in the Euros, and the stories i've seen after the finals from fellow professionals saying he was one of the best organisers of the game. So incredibly important, someone in that role.

Based on what?

Getting the targets we want will likely more come down to FFP and budget than Acuns ability to sell them the Hull City project.

We don’t know how much is left in the kitty.

That literally means nothing. It could mean he was playing as one of the two in a 4-2-3-1 alongside an actual defensive midfielder. By that logic, Slater is a defensive midfielder (he isn’t).

Started out as one though. Slater that is.

Many eventual #8's do.

But Mehlem hasn't played in a 'protecting the back 4' or 'deep lying' role competitively in recent history.

It’s amazing that one report posted by someone not linked to any footballing body can put out a story about a worst case 2 year ban for Zambrano and it gets reposted 5,000 times within hours as absolute fact that it’s going to happen.
