I can’t believe some people would not be happy about Darlow! He’s proven at this level and the best goalkeeper we’ve had for a long time. Probably won’t be him though.
So there's room for more. And there will be some experience coming in areas where we are largely relying on unproven young players.
Some people would be unhappy at anything that didn't correspond with their latest FIFA save. But I'm sure there would be a better younger option in some obscure Azerbaijani reserve league...
If we just want proven players Theres loads of championship journeymen Why are all our signings basically unproven? We are building something Darlow is a waste of money When we apparently have ffp constraints
We have 4 keepers if they are not good enough they should not be here we do not need another as for experienced heads that is what the coaches are there for because they train them with the knowledge and experience they have gained.
Think Darlow would be a great signing. But if we sign him then I don't understand the Racioppi signing.
Have we replaced Baz Richardson yet? And surely that depends on the structure of the coaching setup? Silva brought in 7 or 8 staff but our appointments under Acun have been limited to about 2, plus Daws. If a club has decided to use experienced pros as squad cover and to provide input on the training ground then that's the individual clubs decision. There isn't a blanket rule on this. It's more the model/strategy the club opts to pursue.
Both keepers are young and aren't proven at the level yet. Doesn't mean to say they won't be, but short term experience is what we seem to be looking for in a loan keeper.
So you think if he, Walter, Tan and Acun felt we already had adequate in the building we'd be bringing in another?
I doubt a year long loan where the parent club covers a significant proportion of wages is going to dramatically impact FFP. You on the one hand say our signings are unproven yet in the other have a fit at the suggestion were getting in a proven one. Club can't win can they?
Club can do no wrong judging by your outlook. I get supporting them but do we really need a third goalkeeper hyping up in the run in. We need a main striker and 2 wingers miles more
Like where? Experienced leader and proven centre half on a free for example? A striker with pedigree? No 6 who's worked with Walter and knows the style? Per chance?
If you read through I've not expressed a preference either way. Just what I've been told to expect. Time will tell if it's successful or a waste of money, but in explaining what I believe the mindset to be some clearly feel entitled to have a go at me personally. Don't shoot the messenger.
