Everyone always says this, the same was said about Huddersfield when they went up and bought a ton of top end Championship players, same with Luton last season. I guess TWT with Luton but haven't got off to the best start.
Ogbene, Chong, Nakamba, Giles (obviously since departed), and Kaminski had all had strong Championship seasons the year prior at Rotherham, Birmingham, Luton, Boro and Blackburn respectively.
Hutchinson, Greaves, Delap, and now Szmodics for Ipswich in terms of players who had strong Championship seasons last year. I'd say it's pretty comparable. Could throw in Muric although obviously he played PL last season, but I'm not sure it's as wildly different as you're making out. Luton focussed more on midfield and defence with their signings than attackers.

It's like any negotiation, when minds are focused it happens quickly. I've never really understood why it takes so long to agree transfer fees. Both sides will know what they want to achieve and I believe that in a meeting of a couple of hours, you'll be able to come to a broad agreement if there's a desire to get a deal done. Clubs seem to be happy to wait though and see if they can achieve a better price as the summer progresses. The German league seems to work a lot more efficiently than ours. We seem to build for a mad rush Deadline Day week.
