I’d like us to keep hold of Seri if we can. Perhaps not to start games but if we’re 2 up and need to close the game out he’s the sort of player who can help do that, imo.
From what I’ve seen of him in pre season, he’s become a bit of a liability in the DM role; he’s fine further forward but as last man against Fener he was caught in possession and they scored. Looked much more confident coming on in the Donny game but that was against weaker opposition.
I don’t think Walter fancies him, he wants energy in midfield and for all Seris quality that’s one area he lacks
He made 20 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored 3 goals last season, I’m pretty chuffed we’ve got him.
Why wouldn’t he? He’s got just as much chance of getting injured as anybody else. Assuming Darmstadt’s medical team aren’t useless, he’s going to be fine.
Keep seeing talk of DMs and Simons playing at the base apparently. But on Saturday I didn't see that. Simons was making forward runs all over and no one in midfield really stayed deep. It wasn't the 4-3-3 shape that Walter has been said to play.
That is what I saw too, but there are so many rotations of position, it is hard to say sometime who is playing where. Maybe that is Tim's philosophy, confuse the opposition to death.
