And all of a sudden, people can start see why our deals have been kept quiet. Because we've had to keep our interest on him quiet due to bigger clubs like Palace and Brentford wanting him and you can see how talented the lad is.

That's no different to any other year or any other club. If you're after decent players there will always competition from bigger and better clubs or you'd have to ask why not if the players is that good

I’ve said it all along but I do think in this next week or so we’ll see a lot of players come in. I imagine the recruitment team at Hull City are working harder than ever right now to get deals done as quickly as possible. Hopefully that will settle nerves and get rid of this negativity around the club so we are all ready for a promising and exciting season. UTT.

If we're seriously counting on signing players purely because no other club thinks they're available then that's a pretty inefficient way to do business. Transfer news will always get out before a deal is completed, either via agents or the press. No agent is going to encourage their player to sign with a club without sounding out other interest to get their client the best possible deal.

Tbf, aerial photos of 'our' academy at BB would probably look equally as good, if not better. It's now a really good set up in a lovely location. But, it's not ours, and the salient point of the OP was that it's a quite a few miles away from the 1st team portakabins.
I wonder what BB would be worth....?.. I appreciate its likely not for sale. But surely a long term rental agreement with a promise of improvements might be appealing to the trustees..? (not sure who owns it)

Clubs have known all along he's available, don't let stupid click bait reporters try and make out like it's a shock to others and they suddenly want to bid etc

I totally get that clubs know he’s available - I’m just thinking perhaps those clubs who have him as a second option might decide to move if their first choices aren’t coming to fruition.

But that could and would have happened regardless of a reporter putting out something like that..... Clubs don't wait for nixon to post things then go "oh **** we best make our move"

Exactly, it’s actually crazy that people think a tweet or news article will alert other clubs. Fans are the last to know, if the fans are finding out about it then you can guarantee that other clubs knew about it weeks or months ago, they literally have an entire departments for this purpose!

We'll lose some targets to other clubs and we'll beat them to other targets.

Every target we sign we'll have to beat other clubs. Yeah we lost out on Moore but we won the race for Drameh.

A tweet isn't going to define that.

Hopefully the recency of Greaves helps gets this one over the line. Perform well and we won't hold you back.

I don’t think it’s the tweet or news article that is concerning. It’s more to do with the fact that we have done the ground work in negotiating the price/deal. Once this is agreed it makes it much easier for clubs to come in and match it and give the player the option.

On a positive note, having the same agent as Greaves, seeing how we have progressed young players and our style of play suiting him down to the ground - you would have to think we are high up in a Championship pecking order. Even if a Premier League club comes in, he would have to consider playing time. If he comes here - he will start.

We should also remember that we finished 7th and should be considered a Play-Off contender (ignore lack of signings so far). We are an attractive proposition to players.
