You've been going 60yrs and this summer is the one that makes you think the club isn't secure/worried about it's security.....come on if you've been going 60yrs you well know this doesn't even come into the same universe as were we have been before.

And just to add some realism into things....

We didn't get tim late, he came quite early in the summer.

It didn't take " a while to lose Jacob and Jaden, transfers with multiple clauses and different teams and agents involved take time and the club quite obviously wanted the best deal possible ( them leaving wasn't and isn't a surprise to the club )

And as you said yourself, the markets slow due to the euros and the points I mentioned earlier, yes the squad 100% needs adding to but again, as I said earlier we have only lost 1 player that we didn't already know was almost certainly going. There's stuff happening behind the scenes and the club ( quite rightly ) are keeping it quiet.

If we're still in this situation come the close of the window then by all means be worried, but it's nowhere near the close of the window and we won't be finishing it in the situation.

People really need to just relax a little
Totally accept your response , maybe i just wanted someone who might know a little to stop the whingeing gits endlessly going on and on with doom and gloom. We can all rest easy now , yep I don’t know why I still get a little doubtful , there really is no comparison with many of the previous custodians of the club . Like many it’s the caring that does your head - cheers HT2 - ps I should have bet on Schauffle I guessed he'd do it on Thursday , but I’m not a betting man !

Crespo holding out for better offers?

Backs up my earlier point of him not considering Hull City without the link nicely really.

The line.."but Acun Ilıcalı is following this transfer closely" made me chuckle. Wonder if he's offered him a lift in his plane yet!

Schauffle deserved it didn't he! First one to win 2 majors in a year for quite a while as well ( I think )

Well the combined value of those three players isn't €15m for starters and two of them are over 30. I'd be stunned if we paid more than €7m for all three.

Could the brain team have a look in League 1, League 2 or the SPL, there’s some talents to be had in these leagues, and funnily enough ones we can make money on. We don’t need 3/4 players at the age of of 29+, from the continent, thank you very much.

I already told Okay won't come here, and I already put 2 names (Mercan and Aydin) that can be transferred from Turkey with European passport, both transferred to Fener though. Turkey ship is gone, at this point only foreigner players that teams plan to offload can arrive.

Moreover new federation president (elected couple of days ago) already announced that they will relax foreign player rule, so Fener might not even let Crespo leave. Don't put your hopes high.

We do really have lofty ambitions recruitment wise under Acun, do believe that’s where we stumble recruitment wise sometimes. These deals take ages as these players have countless offers, usually as we hate to admit in much more favourable cities

We always seem to shoot really high and whilst he's been here, it hasn't really worked. Fabio was a big success but I'm not sure about any others.

I don't particularly like the idea of spending big money on Fenerbahce rejects either. Hasn't worked for us previously, and costs an absolute fortune

Tufan worked. Pelkas was a loan, Allahyar we made our money back. Not as bad as some make out id argue.

We still lost money on Tufan, Pelkas was on big wages too and didn't contribute much and Allahyar, supposedly got the transfer fee back but again significant wages on someone who didn't contribute much. It wasn't catastrophic business but also not very good considering Acun's close links. They all struggled with the tempo/intensity of the Championship and it's not something I'd be in a rush to try again.

I think had Rosenior been there from the start all would’ve been much better value. Allahyar and Tufan especially.

Only.

When our turnover will probably be somewhere in the region of 15-20m, and that has to pay for everything from the academy to the teams hotels, however many staff, stewards, police etc. then £1m per season for a single player is not ‘only’

We made more than that on Greaves and Philogene alone. Are we binning all other income?

We could maybe have tried to sign a couple of those players? Delap would have been a start. If Acun was worried in January why did he risk bringing in all those high earning loan players? As for doubts about the managers tactics, we finished 7th, and our home form was disaterous, perhaps we coud have improved on that this season under Rosenior? But Acun never gave him a chance. We've seen evidence of the owners football judgement in the short time he's been here and its not great.
All water under the bridge now but even the most optimistic fan cannot say Acun has covered himself in glory since Plymouth beat us on the last day of last season.
I hope we have a strong enough squad to be a real force in the Championship this season and it would be reassuring to see some evidence of it taking shape. But I see no ships.
If only it were water under the bridge, yet here we are with people like you keep bringing it back up again.
