I'm expecting Seri to leave tbh. I think we'll sign a big dominant defensive midfielder who'll compete with Simmons. If Morton was to come, I'd think he'd play a more advanced role.
i dont know anything about the fenerbache players so its hard to comment but id take take morton alongside a dm/simons

What you’ll see next week if it all goes to plan is Oscar coming in, a RB, a CB and a striker (if it gets signed off).

I was told the RB is in England and didn’t fly out to Turkey as it wasn’t sorted until Friday, so there wasn’t much point and he’s been training alone to keep fit. Should be in the squad for Donny.

A DM isn’t far off either and the names mentioned above from Turkey are serious targets. Crespo and Zajc want to come, not sure about the other fella but it’s about sorting a deal with Fener as they want at least €4m for Crespo and want the non-EU slots they will free up. Zajc isn’t much I think because they want him gone.

Striker is domestic and a loan with an option, currently nobody else in for him to scupper it as far as we know.

I take it the reported fee on twitter for the Fener players is way off the mark. More like a €6/7m situation?

Giles at £4m on a probable 4 year deal only costs us £1m a season. Spreading Morton over 5 years would be a similar outlay

Only.

When our turnover will probably be somewhere in the region of 15-20m, and that has to pay for everything from the academy to the teams hotels, however many staff, stewards, police etc. then £1m per season for a single player is not ‘only’

That doesnt even include their wages

After paying 4.5 millions for Allahyar, everything is possible. Hull might help Fenerbahce to pass FFP regulations also, who knows, any transfer between Sittard, Westerlo, Hull, Fener is suspicious to me. Same players are moving around this 4 club, let's add Maribor to that for future.

all the players were going to go anyway
how can you build on last season with only a few of the players still going to be around?
Acun was worried in January. What owner would give a manager another year when he had serious doubts about his manager's tactics?
We could maybe have tried to sign a couple of those players? Delap would have been a start. If Acun was worried in January why did he risk bringing in all those high earning loan players? As for doubts about the managers tactics, we finished 7th, and our home form was disaterous, perhaps we coud have improved on that this season under Rosenior? But Acun never gave him a chance. We've seen evidence of the owners football judgement in the short time he's been here and its not great.
All water under the bridge now but even the most optimistic fan cannot say Acun has covered himself in glory since Plymouth beat us on the last day of last season.
I hope we have a strong enough squad to be a real force in the Championship this season and it would be reassuring to see some evidence of it taking shape. But I see no ships.

On July 1st - Karol Borys - 17yr old Polish wonder kid moved from Westerlo to NK Maribor on a loan for €1.3m, Acun was trying to sign Borys for City in the last transfer window but it never came off - I don't know the reason why.

Delap joined Ipswich for £15m with £5m of add ons ffs

Yeh the Allahyar deal wasn't good but the 50% sell on clause tells me that Fenerbahce rated him too so I'll give them a pass for that mistake. The relationship Acun has with Fenerbahce is often viewed negatively/suspiciously but I view it as a good thing. Tufan was good for us, Pelkas was a very good player and better than what we had but perhaps not quite right for the championship.

If we can bring players that will fit our style and improve us for a decent fee whilst helping Fenerbahce shift players they don't want then I don't mind that. Crespo would not consider Hull City without this link I'm sure.

He risked it because they were on loan
we were never likely to improve
Liam showed he couldnt motivate players when it mattered against Plymouth
some of our effort at home was appalling
