And I'm just saying would you not take any player that creates and scores goals like he has done for us and then make minimum 6 million profit out of them at the end of the season?

Forget the 15 million buy back, it's redundant. We blew that when we failed at promotion.

6 million minimum profit from what would turn out to have been a loan player that helped fire us to within reach of a playoff spot? It's not statue worthy but its not exactly bad business either...

That 30% hit is what allowed us to have him here in the first place.

Correct, otherwise he could have just been here on loan and we would have ended up with knack all... its **** but we cant complain.

I do understand this point when you look at the fee Delap is going for, I just can't help but feel we're accepting unders.

I’ve never heard of one. Would be totally rubbish for the buying club so I can’t really believe they are on the selling fee. Imagine the player flops and you sell at a loss, then you have to pay even more to the original club? Sounds ridiculous
 
So Villa if they are cheeky can match the £18m Ipswich have offered but with 30% off as a sell-on.

They can then immediately sell him to Ipswich for the £18m already agreed and add in another 30% sell on for themselves and an option to match and buy back.
