Not really the end though is it, or it may not be.

We’ve only done it for about 3% of human history so it’s still a new trendy phenomenon.

As less people are drinking cow milk now (% wise) then it may well be lactose tolerance will wane again and then less will be able to anyway.

So feel free to stick with your new fangled ways, but don’t expect those of us who are traditionalists not to think you’re a weirdo

Humans have been carnivores right throughout history. Not eating meat is the new fangled weirdo way.

Omnivores. We have evolved incisors, but also grinding teeth for things like nuts. But yeah, being able to chose not to eat certain kinds of protein is a luxury seldom afforded to our ancestors.

Humans have never been carnivores
Carnivores need certain amino acids etc from meat or they become very ill and die

Not really daft tbf

Humans have drunk milk from cows for thousands of years but still only about 3% of human history and it was only babies at first because adult humans couldn’t have tolerated it easily until there was a gradual genetic mutation, caused by drinking it as babies as it was a good source of nutrients, which enabled adults to tolerate it.

Some people don’t have that mutation of course and are lactose intolerant.

…weirdo mutant!

Human milk contains more lactose than cows milk

It is a loan fee. I dont see us 'taking a punt' on him raising his value as much as him playing for Barcelona. He showed his limitations last year in the Championship. Playing with World Class players for World Class coaches will surely see his value raise more than getting clattered by Cardiff defenders in the Championship?

Can you really see him being a regular starter for them?

If he spends a season bench warming, whilst a great experience for him personally, it will;
- impact his development because at his age he needs regular playing time (you could perhaps argue that being around that calibre of player offsets this, but game time is key IMO)
- wind down another year on his City contract
- not help us reach the top 6

Just listening to the latest 1904 podcast
https://www.audible.co.uk/podcast/The-1904-Club-a-Hull-City-podcast/B08K5XC516

It's getting harder not to be getting really concerned! Listening to the podcast didn't do anything to dispel concerns either. Saying no signings expected for start of pre-season training and might be another couple of weeks before a 1st signing is made.

Greaves is likely gone. The noise is starting to build around Philogene, meaning the chances of him going seem to be increasing. So it's gone from one or the other to likely both ... and also, unexpectedly, Tufan. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to see Seri go. Neither would I be surprised if Omur is having doubts; it would surely only be natural.

James Smailes commented about the infamous training camp photo from a few seasons ago, but saying we are nowhere near that situation. I 100% disagree!!!

We were in a right mess back then for sure. A training camp approaching a season in the PL without even enough senior players to field a full XI. Albeit that wasn't really true, as we had more senior players that just happened to be injured when the photo was taken!.There was really quality with the players we still had then, and across keepers, defence, midfield and attack. We had a real foundation of quality & experience that could have been built around (McGregor, Jakupovic, Dawson, Maguire, Robertson, Snodgrass, Huddz, Clucas, Diamonde, Myler, Livermore, Davies, Elmo) . Plus we had an experienced back room too.

I would say we are, at this stage at least, in a FAR worse situation! If as now expected, Greaves and Philogene go, we are so short of quality and senior numbers. On the plus side, we will hopefully have money to spend, albeit it might not be seen until well into, or even at the end of the window and a near enough clean slate for rebuilding for the new manager's style. The task ahead in these coming weeks is absolutely massive.

I'd hope and expect that when Walter arrives next week, that he, Tan, Acun start giving updates that reassure the fans before panic really does set in. I'm sure they will ... although it will still remain an absolutely massive task getting the squad ready for this coming season.
