As you said yesterday Wolves have almost a monopoly on Portuguese players around the level we can attract. If they aren’t interested in someone then chances are he’s not very good. Especially as striker is a position they need as far as I’m aware. I highly doubt any Portuguese player, unless incredibly poorly advised, would pick us over Wolves, so if he does come here it would indicate Wolves weren’t interested.
All fair points. Unless it is a budget issue? Which would be tricky for them since they haven’t got a striker in
Mendes client. If Wolves have cooled their interest I’d be intrigued as to why. Him not being very good is not the only possible answer. Especially as there were links with Newcastle and PSG. Financial might be the issue - but that would make it even less likely for us
Or perhaps the good old sell on clause / percentages that some clubs might not be as receptive to?
