A couple of random people claiming a player is coming in this week., Another followed up by saying " A defensive Reinforcment, A exciting one" Probably just tosh.

West Ham have signed a centre back called Aguerd for £30m

That’s another one which would’ve smashed our transfer record, prices rising do we think?

It really comes to something where “an exciting one” in my mind means one that hasn’t been linked regularly. So I wouldn’t count this guy Richards from Bayern for example.

He proved himself to be useful in the air at corners but we rarely tried the high ball tactic in open play even when we were chasing a game.
Did he help create a single goal from a corner ? I am pretty sure he didn’t score from any

And when the high ball was used wasn’t Shane Long called on?

Early in the season when JWP was out and we had Redmond on corners (and incidentally probably our most dangerous corners all season), I remember a home game (don't remember the opposition) where he won two headers from corners in quick succession, I think one may have gone narrowly wide and the other hit the post or something similar. Though thats just one game, and my memory isn't exactly solid fact,...and I don't think it actually led to a goal...but yeah, just recalling a relevant memory from the well.

A Graziano Pelle/SRL type target man would be nice. I thought that Broja could play that way but he was rarely given high balls to control or flick and head on.
Funnily enough (and I'm gonna get burnt for saying this), there was one player who showed those attributes last season. Back to goal, chest ball to left or right and if no one was available, shielded the ball until someone came into play. Shane Long.
