I would rather keep Redmond, was never vey impressed with Minamino, he scored a couple of good goals, but seemed very weak and easily ushered off the ball
It’s more that Redmond is apparently on something like 70k a week with one year left. I don’t see us offering similar terms for an extension when he isn’t a guaranteed starter when everyone is fit. So if there is a buyer we should be considering it

Yeah this is exactly where I am. If we come out of the summer with the number 10 options as Armstrong, Minamino, (maybe) Elyounoussi and at least one other new one then ok. If he was to be our only number 10 option then I’d kind of disappointed

In fact I’d ideally see us get rid of all of the “10s” except Armstrong and Tella and get 3 new ones in (one likely as a loan). But that is likely far too drastic. Perhaps keeping one of Redmond or Elyounoussi but both only have one year left and I don’t think either should get a contract extension at their current wages. Where are Leicester when you need them?

100% would keep Redmond over Tella. I like Nathan, but I don’t think he’s ever going to be good enough.

Thing is though, both of them are only good enough as back up. The club need to think think is it better to have a younger player (that may improve) on probably £30/40k less and with a resale value or an older player, that may be a bit better but will cost more to still sit on the bench and then leave for free in a year?

Assuming we can get a couple of £m for Redmond now I would rather keep Tella and put the extra £40k/week towards the wages of our new starting no.10.

That’s a very fair point.

He's a really good player, only 25, and has produced excellent goal contribution totals the past two years, and probably all but guaranteed Leeds' survival. Is that worth £65m+? Dunno, but it's worth a lot of money.

Is another tricky wide attacking player even in the top five needs for Arsenal? Not in the slightest. But Arsenal's DNA is trying to solve every problem by cramming as many Raphinha-esque players into the lineup as is physically possible, so it makes sense in not making sense.

If Leeds get £65m+ for him then football has well and truly lost it. Stupid money for him.
Might also give us a problem if he goes as we seem to share a target list (seriously most of them match) and they might be able to blow us away with 65m + potentially even more for Phillips if he goes to

Of course those are two big spots to fill. But maybe they will use circa 100-120m to massively bolster there squad but weaken their first team and hope that gets them through a long season

.

What are people suggesting for JWP-50-60mil? Can't say I'd be unhappy if we swapped Raphina for JWP so that price isn't really that high. He's worth whatever they can get for him.

Based on what? Links to Leeds seem strongest (yet another mutual target)

If we are going after Salzburg players it seems Sesko is the one we should be getting. But probably already out of our reach

if you build it he will come
Just heard a few whispers this evening about it again
