They want to improve their squad depth at striker. I'd expect he would move to the bench once DCL is fit? And if that is the case he seemed like he was available for a reasonable price - unlike many other strikers. I wonder if it is him or Diaz? Or both

I think if their way of getting out of trouble is to buy Maupay and Diaz, then they are going to stay in trouble. Which, of course, would be a crying shame.

Don't think Study will go yet. At his best he is our most important player since Rickie/Sadio - take your pick. However, his best was about six games last season. We do need to shift some number 10's and he is the most marketable and his value in £ and contribution will decline quickly, but he is a bit of a guilty pleasure

We'll miss Study when he goes.

We won’t go to €60 million. Move on.
Still have a sneaky suspicion that Dembele from Lyon is out No1 target?

So I guess the clubs perfect end to the window would be AMN on loan, Garner and a striker. Also moving a few on (Redmond, Walcott, Stephens most likely)

If we get those all over the line then I think we have done well with addressing areas we need, then it’s just a question of whether the players are of the required quality.

True, but the new signings so far look the dogs. Early days though. But I have complete faith in our recruitment team.

Yep that sounds about right to me too
However the striker situation appears to be getting a bit serious if Ramos doesn’t appear as per the reports

It was reported that we were after a CB. I think that will depend on what happens with Bed and Stephens though

Yeah no doubt they’ve all looked good in the limited time they’ve been here. Was more a general comment on the whole team being good enough rather than just the new signings. Other teams have bought players as well so it’s way too early to really know where we match up against the rest of the league.

This year is a bit of a weird one as I think there is a lot of ****/similar teams (depending on your view)

Saints
Everton
Leeds
Forest
Fulham
Leicester
Palace
Brentford
Wolves
Villa

I don’t think any of those can really say they 100% won’t go down/be involved in the relegation scrap, and for my money there isn’t really a whole lot of difference between any of them. If you finish top of that list of teams (I didn’t include Bournemouth as they are just bad) you will finish something like 10th and that would be classed as a good season for the majority of those sides
