The fact no club in England took him and he has ended up playing in Cyprus should tell you all you need to know. He just wasn't good enough to push for No1 spot.
Seem decent enough signings given what we now are, BUT what about the missing experience and nous? Only Smallwood so far; thats nowhere near enough. Rest are same as last season, young promising, ....
Might it be, I know many will find this totally unbelievable, but our scouting team got there first and our offer was better and more attractive then other clubs ?

That was my point, why was ours the best offer? if he’s that good I’m sure a championship club could match our offer if they really wanted, no need to be a clever **** .

FFS, Mr Touchy, who's being clever ? There was nothing stopping a Championship club from matching our offer, but none did. What's 'being clever' about that ?
Most probably, keepers develop and hit their peak much later then outfield players
That was my whole point, why did no championship club match our offer? The way some of their fans bigging him up , sounds more then Easily championship quality - is he injury prone? Are they over hyping him? Have we just played a blinder - not criticising City just genuinely wondering why
I remember eyebrows being raised when we paid £50k for Jarrod Bowen from Hereford.
I suspect that many many Championship clubs and clubs in general will be reluctant to invest in the market at this current time. If a championship club had come in for him he may have been a back up plan and thats another investment and salary. With no immediate plans for crowd returns, some clubs will be living hand to mouth. Maybe just maybe we might be in a good position. We can likely balance the books on the sale of 1 maybe 2 players...

Anyway 30 seconds later she returns with another lady and introduces us.
Turns out she was Greg’s mum!
