It's always a problem keeping players who have just had their wages halved and once they get a sniff that somebody else wants them then I'm sure they won't want to be here. I don't think we have many in that catogary but if offers come in what do you do? Force an unhappy player to stay? Or do you cash in. Without losing anyone the team needs strengthening so once we do lose at least a couple which I'm sure we will do then a lot will be needed yet. It's how much the owners want to go back up and how much they are prepared to do to get the quality we need at this level. If they want to increase the value of this club then they have to get back in the championship but that's up to them. When does anyone know what they are thinking of what they will do.

I have an issue with signing "names" on their way down.... Generally they're looking for a final pay day. We've had far, far too many of those.... Few have done a job for the money they want. Barmby, Rocastle, JJ did well.....

Exactly, but there will be some decent players if you delve in.

They were all decent at one time, but now released, would they be for City?

I'm rarely convinced by them at the level we're now playing. They're used to earning far more, so the money we could offer won't motivate them.

Young and hungry all the way for me.....

Jackson Irvine looks to be still living in Hull - it's on Twitter he helped serve pizzas at an event in Paragon Arcade the other evening.

We always need to have some experience. A mixture is the key, obviously young & motivated is ideal, but unless they manage to cobble together a class of ‘92 equivalent, then highly unlikely we’ll be going down that route.
The other thing is, whilst the likes of Forestieri, could probably still do a job in the Championship, I’d say odds on, he could tear apart L1, but would he drop down that low? If a Championship team don’t take him, then he could go abroad, MLS, Greece, lots of options, before they get desperate for L1.

Notts Forest have just announced the signing of Lyle Taylor from Charlton, so may pave the way for Tyler Walker to join City
