No really that bothered about those players released. Don’t rate McKenzie if I'm honest as a right back or a centre half. Mannion one is a strange one I’d have thought he’d be a better prospect than Ingram and probably a better keeper.

How’s Tymon doing anyway?

He actually got two assists in Stoke's last game of the season.

Did he?!?! About the first good thing he did if true

I first heard the comment after the Luton game, might even have been the Wigan one. Accompanied by someone saying him and Pennington had been sent back. But then he(and Pennington) was on the bench for the Cardiff game, so it's almost certainly bollocks.

McKenzie is a harsh one - although he looked out of his depth at right-back, he did OK at centre-back and a level down might have aided his development.
He never looked a world-beater at centre-back, but we forget there were times under Adkins he played centre-back alongside Ridgewell and still did well!

Bowler - you can see if an experienced manager took him by the scruff of the neck, pointed out his flaws, he could develop into a good player.
As it is, he's spent a season constantly beating everyone for pace and then smashing his crosses into row Z and nobody has done a thing about it.
He's going back to Everton the exact same player he was when he arrived - knows he's got natural talent, but is blind to what let's him down (and those things are huge if you want to make it as a footballer).

MacDonald - Considering he's had injury and health problems ever since he arrived, we've never had the opportunity to see the best of him, but he looks to (hopefully) be over his injury troubles and has thankfully overcome his battle with cancer which will have made him a stronger person because of it. I'd be happy to see him sign a new contract and hope he does - to say he's barely played any games in the last 2 years, he didn't look any worse than anyone else in the side (and I know that doesn't mean much considering how poor we've been), and when you put it into perspective with what he has been through...

Re MacDonald.... I suggest from what i've seen so far he's nowhere near McLoughlin. I haven't seen Greaves play but I suspect from reading reports he's behind him also...

The thing with McKenzie - He’s local. He’d have fit within the budget. He’s a development prospect. I haven’t seen enough of McLoughlin to say he’s any better. I’d rather have a local lad playing in the team anyway.

This is rather sobering.
See the picture of the players we had last time round.
Leaders, experience, flair, characters, goals, grafters, spirit, consistency, highly experienced manager, ...... oh, and lots of fans willing them on too.
It shows in one picture how far off we currently are from what's needed.
A reality check ahead of next season.

As De Wijs & Burke have had relegation clauses in their contracts activated, I wonder what the release transfer fee will be to get them out of the club? I can see Championship clubs coming in for them both in the next month or so, leaving us with central defence options of Tafazolli, McDonald (if he re-signs), Greaves, McLaughlin and Arthur.
