Yes a one year option. Given the prices of Championship players this season £20m would be the absolute minimum we should accept. But given it will be Ehab - £10m it is.

To be fair, I was expecting him to sell him for what he could this summer but he's still here!

Newcastle will be in deep **** by then, they'll either pay it, or be planning for life back in the championship.

As we have found with Henrikson what we want and what others are prepared to pay are 2 differing things, it changes and is fluid, a bit of poker may go on, though with other players / options being available it is looking like the buyers hold the card's

I'm sure there are clubs where the willing purchaser knows they can't **** the Chairman over... Levy as perhaps the best example... then there's Boy Blunder.

Former Forest 'target' Kamil Grosicki wants to clarify his future at the KCOM Stadium when he returns from international duty with Poland next week.

The winger will see his contract at Hull expire next summer.
Certainly, after returning from this grouping, I will want to meet the president in the club and talk about the future, he told Polish media outlet SportoweFakty.

"Some decisions have to be made. Either the contract will be extended or not. I would like to know where I stand to think forward."

I want to meet the president in the club...President Allam - two words which conjure up a picture which would make anyone a Monarchist.

It's heartbreaking that we have a player wanting to stay, who the fans want to stay, who is one of our best players, and the club isn't trying to find a way to make it work.

Does he want to stay though? Or is he just saying what he knows fans want to hear so when he leaves he can say "well I wanted to stay" etc...

If he said he wanted out would you similarly mistrust him?

End of the day all you can do is go off what the player seems to be indicating. Everything I've seen from attitude on the pitch, to words and actions off it, is of a guy who has finally settled into a groove and is pretty happy here.

Pretty happy he may be according to your words, then again he's on a premier league salary which for certain we won't extend unless we get promoted (unlikely). Ultimately Turbo may have to take a big hit on his salary if he wants to stay given examples of others who have either not been offered deals or chose to leave due to wage implications this Summer. Sounds more like Turbo wanting some degree of clarification which is understandable so he can direct his agent accordingly ideally come January and NOT at the end of the season.

Personally would love him to stay, the realist in me however sees him going at some point this season.

Cant see him going in January,
Hes enjoying his football, enjoying his wages and will be able to negotiate his next contract himself wherever that may be next summer.

if the club advise him or his agent that they won't be taking up any contract option, he would be able to sign a precontract come January.

The Newcastle Chronicle article stated we quoted Newcastle £20m in the summer and they weren't prepared to pay it.

Which it then goes on to say they're likely to come back in in January when they expect a lower price.

What makes you think he's on a PL salary?

The Daily Fail have regularly quoted that both Turbo and Markus are the two remaining players on contracts that were 'awarded' during our Premier League Days. The Fail quoted only a few days ago c£20k a week for Markus given he didn't move as anticipated in the January window. Whether that's right or not is anybody's guess.

What we do know is what happened to the other players awarded 'Premier League contracts', they've all gone!

You could have said this multiple times over the past couple of years, most recently regarding Fraizer Campbell. It isn't a new situation for us, so we/Kamil shouldn't hold out any hope really.

He'll leave on a free at the end of the season, having been offered a contract at a third of his wage to make it look like we're trying to keep him.

He'll end up going to Forest or somewhere **** like that.

Ah well.
