If we can get £8m for Fer and re-invest it in quality Championship players that's a good deal imo.

To me Tettey is more suited to the Championship and looked well up for it on Saturday.

He had an excellent game and a great goal to cap his performance. <ok>

I agree Fer is probably too good for the championship, but just hope he goes somewhere other than Koo Pee Arr.

Whilst I would have loved Leroy to stay, the money is obviously too much to turn down and I'm not sure entirely how much we will "miss him" as he had a very stop/start season and never really cemented down a place in our starting XI for one reason or another.

Don't remember him putting in that many match-winning performance either, though obviously he has bags of potential and will no doubt end up being a quality top-flight midfielder. Just wish it was with someone other than Koo Pee Arr.

Rumours of Cameron Jerome on twitter and news now. Could be effective at championship level, I would not be overwelmed. But Could certaintly add another option to our attack.

Bah!

Interesting - that would surely mean we have managed to offload Becchio as Jerome's wages wouldn't be peanuts. Certainly would be good cover for Lafferty as our target man.

A very interesting one - trained at the Man U academy, which is a big tick, and apparently turned down a contract offer from them in favour of guaranteed first team play (which indicates a good attitude). Has since played a lot of games for Huddersfield (a few games on the bench early on, but pretty much a guaranteed starter in the second half of last season). He's not a goal/assist machine, so his stats are ok without being stellar, but from the little I've heard of him, he's more someone who keeps the midfield ticking over in a "pass before the assist" kind of role. Seems best as a central midfielder - not a big yellow-card collector so probably defending is not his strong point.

For those that it bothers... he's 5'11". Not skinny.

He is also a regular international for NI now, so would know Lafferty well.

Would definitely be in competition with Surman, then. More generally, I've heard reasonably positive things about him - I think he'd be a sound acquisition, particularly if Surman is moving on.

I've never rated Cameron Jerome at all. I am not too excited about signing him. Not even sure we need another striker.

I think he'd be ok as long as he's just cover - agreed that he's not exciting... Has a good record at Championship level though and could well be effective.

Norwood is decent. Can pass a ball and offers creativity. Not in a Wes way, much better passer. Strong set pieces too. Would be a good signing - vast improvement on surman if it happens.

completely agree with this <ok>

norwood is a very decent player, good age - would be a good signing for anything south of £2m.

jerome is a useful player at premier league level so certainly in the championship he would be, but different in style to lafferty. not a goal scorer but a real handful, similar perhaps to kenwyne jones but quicker. i think if becchio can be offloaded he'd be a clever acquisition. if he's to replace hooper its madness - total madness.

Jerome would be a quality signing. He is anproper handful and a cracking Championship striker! Listen we struggled against Wolves for one reason... our defenders couldnt cope with the pace and power of their forwards. Jerome has both and once was a prolific championship scorer. Id love us to sign him. Last year would have been different but in this league, players like him are a must! Just look at Cardiff! Kenwyne Jones' name would have been laughed off by us in the PL because he never scores...drops down a league and bang, 3 in 2. I think £2m for Jerome at this level would be very good business :-)

My opinion of course :-)

one word of warning about norwood: having spoken to the only huddersfield fan i know, he says he hasn't quite recaptured his initial promise over the last 12 months or so and a number of their fans have turned on him. but there is definitely a decent footballer in there. perhaps its a bit like redmond with us! would arguably rather have clayton but i suppose he's a bit too similar to howson.

That's weird, because he's become more of a fixture in their starting line-up with time

So after a crazy few mins on twitter also looks like Carlos Cueller is having a medical right now!
If all rumours are true that means we are signing a striker (CJ) to midfield players (ON + KC) and a defender (CC) today!

Cuellar would be an excellent signing for this division, however it does make you wonder what is happening to Ryan Bennett's career as surely this would put him further down the pecking order and at his age he needs to be playing in order to develop

Would we actually miss Redmond though? Aside from the Southampton game when he scored, has he actually put in a single match-winning performance in a yellow shirt yet?

Agreed, though Bennet has signed a new contract so must be happy!

Also, Cuellar looks more like a back-up to Turner, to my mind, with Bennett as Martin's backup.
