Perhaps he was doing it the right way by waiting for the deal to be finalised before he said anything:

“Getting relegated was hard to take,” Snodgrass said. “Last year, I believe that I couldn’t have given any more from a personal point of view. I was struggling with a few niggling injuries but I went out there and put my body on the line to try to save the club from relegation. Obviously, that wasn’t to be. I had a great two years there. I made some great friends and met some great people. I had one year left of my contract and they didn’t offer me anything else when we went down to the Championship. There’s no bad blood at all. I believe I did as well as I possibly could towards the end of last season.”

As for the fans, it's hardly surprising given the booing during games and the constant sniping about players. People have to realise that players are human and these things affect them.

maybe we're going mad rick, but i can't figure out why some people seem so annoyed with him

I don't know if people are that "annoyed", I'll be honest I find it perhaps just a touch rude for him to not have tweeted something as I saw many, many Norwich fans wishing him all the best and personally thought it would be common courtesy to respond, it would only take a second or two after all. I guess that's just the way I am and have been brought up, I cannot stand rude people, anyone who can't be bothered to say thanks if I hold the door open for example, or those idiots who don't seem to understand the words please and thank you. My 21 month year old daughter says "please" and "ta" already, it really isn't hard.

As for Snods, him not sending a tweet hasn't massively annoyed me at all, it doesn't make me think any worse of him and it certainly hasn't had an impact on my day-to-day life. Just thought it would have been an appropriate thing to have responded saying thank you, which I guess he may still do, as that is certainly what I would have done without a seconds thought.

I personally find it a bit much to tell people that they need to "get a grip" if I'm being honest, but again that's perhaps just me <ok>

I also was expecting him to say something but than again he's done nothing but praise the club during his time. I think what he said about winning Player of the Season was a prime example of that. He gave it guts on the pitch etc. I think the fact he didn't slightly indicates he left on bad terms, but after the comments this morning I think they're fine.

Anyway, who would everyone like in to replace Snoddy? Personally I like Matt Ritchie, I think he is a good player, he also has age on his side. I've also always liked Will Buckley, although I didn't really see how he did last season.

With Bennett, Redmond and Pilks we have 3 very solid wingers in the team already. I imagine Josh Murphy will definitely be in the squad as well, but I would like to see a replacement in.

I did read we were in the race for a Bosnian winger, but I can't find the link.

right, first up, lets get this clear - our club is NOT run like a circus - why do people love to exaggerate these things? perhaps take a look at some other clubs around the country - you will find that despite a difficult year, we are very, very well run in comparison. whether you agree with adams appointment or not makes no difference to that.

is rvw's tweet sarcastic? well, that was certainly how i read it. but that's probably because i believe the pair disliked each other - if you don't share that way of thinking then you probably wouldn't sense any sarcasm.

is snodgrass an ungrateful prick? possibly, possibly not. just because he hasn't praised norwich fans doesn't make him ungrateful. he (attempted) to do his talking on the pitch and showed commitment to the club when playing, which wasn't always the case with all the players. to be honest, i really wouldn't be surprised to see him come out and say something later on about his time at norwich and praise the fans - though if i were him, i doubt i would, baring in mind they booed him during a game, remember? why does it matter if he doesn't say anything on twitter anyway? some people need to get a grip. he's moved on, we've got a cracking deal for him. personally i'm quite pleased he's left (regardless of the fee) because i think he caused us as many problems as he solved down that right flank.

I agree - some people need to accept the size of club Norwich are and get far too caught up with exaggerating our status. Fact is that our club is run well and within our financial budget which enables us to steadily grow. Whatever level of success we have, we will always be brought back to the status level we have of being a well supported "regional club". Just look at what the quick injection of success has done for Southampton. Their fans must be just as frustrated as us.

Time will tell with RVW but like a previous post, i hope i have not read too much in to the Hooper tweet "see you soon" (to Snodgrass) as i think he would be more of a loss.

Lets look forward to a good competitive season

'Ain't that the truth!!!!' <cheers>

It's been said here before, but I think a quality ACM is the priority over another winger, as, in addition to Bennett, Redmond, Pilks and Murphy, Grabban and Lafferty can both play wide, as can Surman.

<wah> Go jog on clap along with Aunty Delia like a good boy...

You really are a "fan" of very limited intellect. I believe the transfer window has a full two months to go yet, but you decide that you have superior knowledge of all that is happening inside the hallowed halls of Carrow Road. If you want to make snide comments about our manager at least wait until you have reason to do so.

In the Pink'un, Adams has scotched any rumours about bids for either McCormack or Deeney, or any other player at the moment.

That won't stop the tabloids from making things up though!

(I posted the link, but this site is playing silly buggers with links at the moment.)

Think we might be able to afford Sylvain Marveaux?

We could handle the fee and he is the perfect position for what we need, but I imagine wages would be the big sticking point, along with whether he would be prepared to drop to the Champ

According to the EDP which heard it from The Mirror. So probably not a lot in it.

18 y/o promising CB/CM. Can't quite see where he'd fit in, although apparently he's out of contract so compensation would be the only fee. MK Dons value him at £4m though apparently, so wouldn't be cheap.

Just seen this on newsnow - the Liverpool papers have picked it up because Everton are apparently in for him. He looks like quite a tidy player. If he's out of contract, we know what the fees are like - that's really unfortunate for MK Dons because it will genuinely be pittance. I'd be surprised if it's £1m.
