Most definitely. LCB I'd say Astori and Forren, and RCB I'd have Yoshida and Fonte. Saying that if a right sided CB came along at the right price, I wouldn't be surprised if Fonte maybe left.

Even Nicola would be wary of the protest Fran would stage should that come to pass......

I think the 1 or two centre backs argument comes down to Forren. He's stood out at international level before now so I expect him to play much more of a part next season. If that is the case we will only really need 1 top class centre back. Have to make sure he fits the system and is a good parter to our other cb options.

I'd prioritise a winger with real pace and a striker. Lambert isn't getting any younger and we've been lucky with injuries. Added pace and goalthreat always welcome.

In order of importance I'd say this summer we need:

    1. Centre back (the weakest area of the team, improvement much needed)
    2. Right wing (a slight weak link in the side)
    3. Striker (more cover needed, there were times I looked at our bench and there was no attacker there who could come on and change the game. We could possibly get a left winger instead as that gives us the option to either play Rodriguez up top or on the left)
    4. Centre midfield (we have good quality there but lack a little bit of competition/depth)
5 and 6. Cover in both full back positions (self-explanatory, our first choices are very good but we need cover for Shaw in particular. There may be youngsters coming through that can fill in)

You might put another centre back on the list as well but that depends on Forren. So if we got Astori and Nainggolan I'd say a right winger and a striker are next on the list.

Interesting. Florent Malouda tweeted "training now!!!" - he's currently a free agent.

Some Liverpool fan replied "enjoy, say hi to Aaron for me!" with a picture of Staplewood's facilities.

Malouda has retweeted and shared this photo.

True. Knew there was a reason Morgan got a new contract...

Right this could be slightly over-amibitious by here goes...

    http://www.football.co.uk/as_roma/prandelli_ditches_osvaldo_over_cup_behaviour_rss4222978.shtml

Pablo Osvaldo from AS Roma has been omitted from Italy's Confederations Cup squad after publicly falling out with his manager, and apparently wants to leave Roma.

Now Osvaldo played at Espanyol under Pochettino, but like many players was sold to cut the huge debts that the Spainish club have, despite the fact he scored 20 in 44 games for Espanyol.

As Roma, like Italy, aren't swimming in cash, and he wants to leave, could he be a shorter term solution to the striker position? As he's 27 and they want 12 million or around that figure, he would be expensive, but as Lambert isn't getting younger, and when Lambert went off against Swansea we seemed to lack that leader upfront that Pablo would give us, whilst also enabling Jay Rod to learn off him so that when Osvaldo gets too old, Jay Rod can step up and become the main man and leader up the front.

Know it's unlikely, but thoughts on this?

No thanks to Osvaldo. Gobbed off at his manager, spits at opponents and punched a team-mate. When he doesn't get a pass he moans.

    Not the character we need.

    Would love Osvaldo but unlikely.

Edit: didn't know what DTLW said, so in that case no to him.

Osvaldo would be a bad idea. He'd just disrupt the team. Malouda would be good on a free assuming his wages are reasonable.
