Vegard Forren has rejected a loan move back to Norway, to fight for his place here.

So it looks like either he wasn't signed for this season or it's another case of the Tadanari Lee "Sold a lie" situation and he's been replaced before even getting his feet under the table.

Assuming this information is true.

I don't expect transparency, but the bull**** that comes out of the club at times is disheartening.

The quotes are from Forren & Solksjaer themselves.

I wouldn't have a problem with him coming off the bench, I agree in many circumstances it would be ideal. I meant more that I don't want us to sign players that will displace Rickie from even the bench that would be a real shame, hugely expensive and also unecessary when I feel that it's attacking wingers that we should spend our big money on. Rodriguez and Lambert should be able to hold down the lone striker position with occasional support from mayuka and guly, whereas lallana and puncheon our preffered wide men need to either improve or be improved upon.

It's slightly worrying that stoch is about the best wideman we have been linked with.

We agree in lambert then. Good

The information that he was signed for this season came via Forren's agent didn't it?

are they all signing from the same hymn sheet?

edit: lol signing.

Yep, I think it was agreed that he wouldn't play till this season.

The most recent quotes from Forren & his old manager Solksjaer seem to back this up as well.

I don't think we ever accepted a bid to loan him out, Molde only enquired and were told no by both the club and player. At least that's the impression I got from the Echo's story (not sure whether the club were even asked about his availability).

I would have liked to have seen us sign Andreas Cornelius who has signed for Cardiff, would have been good competition for Lambert, and a good potential replacement. 6ft 4in, and according to the BBC very good technically, also at the age of 20, I don't think he'd have expected to play every game, and would have accepted being a sub with a start every few games for the first season, much like Rodriguez the season just gone. The only downside I read about was that he's been dubbed the 'New Bendtner'

Now i'm encouraged.

That makes the world of difference.

how can you turn down a loan move that your club aren't offering?

I know what your saying, but I interpreted it as Solsksjaer asked Forren if he'd be interested, and whether they'd take it further between the clubs ... Forren turned that down. If that makes sense?

agent enquiry only then. which gives no direct indication whatsoever about the club's intentions, except that forren feels he stands a chance.

fair enough.

slow news day.
