It's Tancredi Palmeri, so probably pretty good.

The story originally comes from Gianluca Di Marzio, senior football reporter for Sky Italia, in the interests of transparency.

Di Marzio has a reasonable reputation. Tancredi can be a bit hit-and-miss at times.

It's getting traction with the People Who Actually Know Things, so there's a decent chance that we made an offer. Significantly less of a chance that we actually manage to get him, though.

A part if me wonders if this is a ruse from the club to raise our profile with other potential
    Signings.

Don't shoot the messenger: sky reporting this article includes Southampton as one of the five clubs; surely not.

Sinclair wants a loan deal. Would he be worth the risk on loan? Would give us a season to check him out and possibly have City pay part of his wages?

    Bendtner >>>>> Damiao

Pretty sure one of the reasons/problems which has held up Damiao's move to Europe is to do with co ownership, Internacional own half of his rights and somebody else (possibly his agent) own the other half, and Internacional want a fee as if they own 100% of his rights

Don't want to get into one of those joint ownership deals if it means we get diverted from deals that could actually take place. If Spurs can't make it happen, we'll have the same problems. However, it is nice to get a proper rumour full of translations....down side, they seem to make sense. Need to be unreadable to be truly enjoyable. Bendtner....no. If we have 20 million swirling around...how come we don't finish a deal instead of arguing over details.

If damiao comes here he would do very well to have the season Lambert just had. He would be a decent signing going on what I have seen on youtube but not someone we particularly lack so not too fussed if we don't get him. However he could potentialy be brilliant and I think it would be hugely beneficial to our season if Lambert could sit games out or come off the bench rather than play injured.

Lambert is such an immense player but he needs to be the one getting on the end of crosses not the one to pull out wide and put in good balls to people who can't head or finish like lallana. If we can sign some proper creative talent and a striker to take the physical and mental pressure off Lambert I think we could see him have his best season for us yet. That said if he is strggling physically with a hip or back injury we may never see an infrom Lambert again which would be a real shame.

Not that it matters much but Lambert seems like an exceedingly great bloke, I hope we don't sign anyone that will piss him off or put him out of a job.

I agree with all of that apart from the last sentence. I don't want Lambert put out of a job, yet could you imagine us signing someone that meant Rickie was coming off the bench because the other player kept him out in merit? Wow! Two things to consider with that:
    1. It would mean we'd signed a really great striker, whoever that is and
    2. How good would it be to have Rickie coming on as a plan B

Not writing him off at all, just pointing out the positive view of that.

Now that would be a marquee signing!
Reminds me a little of Robinho to city though, turned a few heads and let everyone know they were serious but didn't really work out. Can't imagine he even knows where southampton is, let alone has any real desire to play for us unless we offer him a shed load of money.

Still, amazing to even see us linked to this kind of player.

I wouldn't have a problem with him coming off the bench, I agree in many circumstances it would be ideal. I meant more that I don't want us to sign players that will displace Rickie from even the bench that would be a real shame, hugely expensive and also unecessary when I feel that it's attacking wingers that we should spend our big money on. Rodriguez and Lambert should be able to hold down the lone striker position with occasional support from mayuka and guly, whereas lallana and puncheon our preffered wide men need to either improve or be improved upon.

It's slightly worrying that stoch is about the best wideman we have been linked with.

Vegard Forren has rejected a loan move back to Norway, to fight for his place here.

Spurs seem to get linked with any half decent player from South America and never sign any.
They're either terrible at completing deals or there just not that into them.

They chose the right one to sign in Sandro though, perhaps they don't rate damiao highly enough.

Are Spurs not one of the clubs with an interest in Damiao as I gather we are not the only ones.....would be one hell of a coup if we go him!
