Hmm, need to think more on this one. I can see both sides of it all in keeping him and getting rid. It is just getting a bit tedious now, it seems it always is something. A punch last week and a bite this week. Biting though...... AGAIN!!!!!!!

It is getting to a point where it is what do we want more:

1.) Club reputation

2.) Points

One of the things that drove this armchair, plastic, glory hunting 90's fan to follow LFC was the club ethos and philosophy of how they play. I think there will be a fine, ban (obviously) but also think there has been a quiet word to Suarez , " You have taken us through a racism case, giving the middle finger to fulham, dealing with punching gonzalo jara ( international), and biting (again) a player..... what will it take? Last chance saloon"

It is a tough one but I think Suarez needs a long long hard look in the mirror. When your wife is threatening to not come to any more games due to your antics, something is wrong.......... and then you go bite someone.

1. Hes a world class footballer, the only one we have
2. Our rivals, opponents will want us to get rid, Fergie would love us to get rid, this on its own is enough to keep him
3. Suarez going will mean transfer targets will look elsewhere, if Suarez stays I think Eriksen will sign, if he goes Eriksen wont sign, nor will anyone else want too
4. If we sell we wont get his true value
5. If we sell, we arnt guaranteed the players replacing will work, Suarez " works" we know that already
6. We will win more games, more chance of success with Luis
7. Luis has anger issues in certain situations, you shouldnt just f**kin drop someone because they have personal problems just cos things are gettin a little tricky, thats not the LFC way. I wouldnt do that with one of my friends, and LFC and its real fans wont do it with Luis.

What he did was out of order, but people saying we should get rid, need to get a f**kin grip

Five things I predict b4 the end of the season

1. The fans who go to the away game at Newcastle, will sing Luis Suarez name until they are hoarse ( like below )
2. The fans who go to the home game v Everton, will sing Luis Suarez name until they are hoarse ( like below )
3. The fans who go to the away game at Fulham, will sing Luis Suarez name until they are hoarse ( like below )
4. The fans who go to the home game V QPR , will sing Luis Suarez name until they are hoarse ( like below )
5. The Luis Suarez song will be sung louder than ANY other song by LFC fans at those 4 games. FACT!!!!!!!!!!!

So those fans who want him to leave, will be of the opposite view of pretty much EVERY Liverpool fan who attends regular games at home and away

I am certain that Luis Suarez will be backed to the rafters by the guys attending games between now and the end of the season

By the way there are 2 types of fan, fans who would LOVE to have Luis Suarez in there team, and liars!!!!!!

Too many fickle fans on here. Do I condone what he did? No. Should we sell him? No. Time to move on? Yes.

Come on peeps, he's been a bit silly! And apologised! Which doesn't make it right I know! But cut him some slack. Ivanovich and Benitez have to be respected for their stance on this. Can't wait to see what Lord Ferg makes of this.

Oh and finally, no body died, Suarez will always make the headlines but don't drive this Guy out of LFC, don't let him walk alone. Luis Suarez LFC future legend!!!!! Just can't get enough

He has done irreparable damage to the good name of your Club. I can see why you would want to keep him,but that comes with a price.

without suarez we would have been 15th or lower in the league table, he is by far the best player in the premier league and hated because of it,but he is prone to do silly things when he gets frustrated,he needs to learn to control this side (anger management etc).
suarez has not had a red card this season so he cant be as bad as people are making him out to be, i think a 3 game ban will suffice.

Most fans I know and see on Not 606 generally acknowledge he is a great player but I think you will find he is hated for his "other" aspects of his game, just as our own Grant Holt is hated by many for his "not so nice" aspects to his game. Nothing to do with jealousy as far as I can make out.

Because the officiating has been SO good this year... 3 games for biting someone? Just because he didn't get a full mouthful doesn't mean it shouldn't be more... And to everyone saying we are fickle fans because we don't want someone who bites other players at our club, ffs listen to yourself. I hate cheats, but to pay someone who misses more than five straight games in two seasons due to being banned is just too far. I want someone who respects the jersey they put on, or at least the fans, enough to not bite another player. In a match, I would never consider biting someone. Punching, kicking out, hard tackles are all good (not really, but they happen) but biting is unacceptable. So don't call me fickle because I have morals. Maybe you think I overreact, but don't you dare have the gall to call me fickle.

Here are some tweets from several Anfield fans who attend the games, these guys will be cheering Luis from the stand in the next 4 matches whether he is playing or not.

JFT96‏@LiverpoolFC_18
Do I condemn Luis for what he did? Absolutely. Do I still support him and want him at our club for years to come? Without a doubt. #LFC

tweetingred‏@tweetingred
Can't defend Suarez for that, unacceptable. He deserves the same punishment & resulting vitriol, that Jermain Defoe got. #LFC

Matt‏@matt_block205
He's done it. He shouldn't of. He'll be banned. Move on

Brian Durand‏@BrianDurand561h
Agreed. Biting is a ****house trick. But Huth's studs in the chest was far worse and more dangerous - & completely ignored

John Maguire‏@JohnMaguireLFC
Also similar to Cantona, mad as a *****ose but absolutely ****ing brilliant at playing football! Go easy on him #HeMayBeALoonButHesOurLoon.

Amit Dattani‏@dattaniamit
Luis is family. You discipline him. Tell him he is wrong. Tell him you love him and help him. You don't get rid. #family #lfc

Matthew Ordish‏@AnfieldMatt
United stuck with Cantona so why can't we stick with Suarez? He's a bit of a nutcase but he's also irreplacable.

Karl ‏@TheCenci
Man bites man. Football's governing body are responsible for the deaths of ninety six people. And the indignation is heading which way?

Mark Mc‏@MarkmaccaMc
One last tweet FFS I'll back Suarez even if he'd have bit his ****in bolocks off.please read through my TL before thinking otherwise

Tom Keegan‏@redmedic56
Can't believe some of the self righteous comments so far. Defoe did similar was he hung up by his balls!!

Kristian Walsh‏@Kristian_Walsh
I'm more offended by the awful jokes about Luis Suarez more than anything he did today.

Graeme Kelly‏@GraemeKelly1
@knoller2 I'd fine him and keep him. He is immense.

Joseph Musker‏@Musker_LFC
But sell Suarez? You must be ****ing mad! He's still the best player in the league, but what he did today was inexplicably frustrating!

Connor‏@ConnorwilsonLFC
Suarez is wrong & deserve what he's going to get! And you can't say different. But saying he should go is absolutely ridiculous.

Tony Wareing‏@Tony_The_Red
If Ayre/FSG **** themselves and sell Suarez, for less than he's worth due to 'controversy' they are ****ing cowards & have let them win #LFC

Mersey Reds‏@MerseyReds1
If you think selling Suarez is the answer your an idiot, Fergie will be pissing himself, he stood beside Cantona & Keane when did worst...

I started reading this thread last night and thought it best to sleep on it before making my decision on the poll (unlike most! :emoticon-0105-wink:). My first reaction was to publically criticise him and then get rid as soon as possible. I am sick of this **** being associated with our club but more importantly I was disappointed that he thinks so little of us as fans that he is willing to pull trick like this after we all put up with so much **** in defending him.

Having slept on it – I’m going with publically criticise him but keep him (if that is even possible without CL). I work in the Middle East for a company with multiple nationalities who did not grow up obsessed with English football like we did (Indian, Pilipino, etc). As we know, the Prem is now a global brand which my colleagues watch, and unfortunately they do comment on the things that Luis does in a negative light. That is obviously not good for our image overseas.

But then, more importantly – these same Indians and Pilipinos couldn’t name one player from another team outside of the top 5 (a position that I can see us being in for another few years unfortunately) but they follow us because of players like Luis, Stevie and Pepe. Why the **** would we actively look to get rid of our prize asset? He has almost single handedly kept us in seventh position this season… SEVENTH!! Without him we may very well be behind West Brom and Swansea and I guarantee you that these people in the magic land of revenue streams don’t have a West Brom shirt with Brunt on the back! None of my colleagues do anyway...

I would publically give him a good arse kicking and dock his wages for the duration of his ban. Then pray to Fowler that he stays and helps us next season!

As much as we all love his skills as a player I'm amazed at the ridiculous level of support he's getting from some of you lot. It seems one man can become bigger than the club.

I see no reason to get into the rights and wrongs of yesterday as there's really nothing to defend..."aaaw but he's misunderstood" <wah> no he ****ing isn't misunderstood... this guys got mental issues. There's no misunderstanding.

"Aaaw but such and such has done bad things before" <wah> so what? Did you excuse Diouf for spitting because Rijkard did it too?

What pisses me off most about yesterday isn't the bad press or the fact we might sell him its the fact that todays headlines should have been about our support and tribute to Anne Williams. Instead Suarez has given the media very good reason not to even give Anne a passing mention. THAT is what his actions yesterday have cost more than anything else.

Defend him all you like but for me that's unforgivable.

Well I'll be at most of those games and I won't be singing his name <ok> yesterday should have been about spreading the word worldwide about the amazing efforts and strength of Anne Williams. Instead we have the world discussing his lunatic antics AGAIN.

I agree entirely with you about Anne. He's a complete knob head for deflecting attention away from a great woman - no Liverpool fan will argue on that one. And I agree that he does have mental issues and needs some serious councelling to try to control the swing between the **** head who is on the pitch and the nice guy that we are told he is off the pitch.

But then I think it all comes down to club values vs club success. Stick with the Liverpool values, bootroom mentality - get rid of him and hope to sign another worldclass player. Risk becoming a mid table team. Or put sentiment aside and look in terms of sucess. Do what every other top team has done in the league and keep your prize assets after something like this.

Shut up Billy you fickle plastic <whistle>

Completely agree with you though but it seems for some Suarez is bigger than the club.

And before anyone starts I'm not saying you should sell him or anything else, that's down to your management and your management alone but some of the defences of him have been pathetic.

100% well said that man...

Soooo much bollox.

England top flight hall of shame
We've had GBH on the pitch in the past
Attacks on a fan by a player
Drug cheating
Sacked player
The most disgusting family man ever
Nazi keeper
Spitting
Stamping
career ending tackles
All manner of dangerous play with the intention of hurting another player
Biting

Suarez has committed some of the above but not the worst by far.

I have mentioned it yesterday re Huth's stamp on him, Aguero's assault on Sideshow Bob too and Sideshow Bob's assault when Chelsea played Brentford.

Those above are the reasons I have not and will not take this whole fiasco with anything more than a pinch of salt, everyone is entitled ot their say but those that display "Real" disgust or moral repugnance will just make me laugh because they apply it carefully to what they choose to.

This would still be a little back story if he was English and a below average player<doh> Duncan Ferguson was worshipped for his hard man dirty style of football, many said Huth should have stamped Suarez into the ground, and the same people are saying "Oh this is terrible" <laugh>

So bring it on you halfless ****wits!!

Context? Okay I thought people were claiming that biting was terrible and had no place in the game, now it seems there is "context" and sometimes it is part of the game, at least according to Big Bird and Martin Jol:

Spurs boss Martin Jol described Defoe's bite as a "comical nibble". "It is part of the game. They kicked him three times from behind in 10 minutes and he wanted to show his frustration in a nice, comical way."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/t/tottenham_hotspur/6076094.stm
,

That's BB for you, I've read him hail Duncan Ferguson for his assaults so his opinion means **** all and probably deserves no reply, he talks through his blue bitter arsehole

Can't really add anything more other than the media's complete overreaction to it all - judging by Sky's Ed Chamberlains mood, I thought someone had died.

Yes it was a stupid thing to do - he will be punished accordingly i.e. we probably won't be seeing him on the pitch until the new season. He apologised to Ivanovic and Rodgers came out with his statement as well. We move on.

Ian Ayre, and LFC as a whole reacted well although it shouldn't have been necessary. Suarez on the front page of papers? Come on ...

With regards to selling him, you must be joking. In case some people forget, we're not the force we once we were, no European football, finishing around 7th again. We don't have any world class players apart from Suarez. Gerrard is a world class name but only he and Suarez can attract others. He gives us 100% every game and plays for the badge on his shirt unlike some others.

And we shouldn't be bowing down to public/media pressure. There are players who have done far worse but still carry on - Cantona being the prime example.
