Wow I thought the Prime Minister comment was supposed to be a joke but they really did issue a statement.

Dont know if this has already been brought up but that mini judas defoe bit javier mascherano on the arm at upton park (west ham vs spurs ) the FA took no action even though it was caught on the tv, got to be some kind of presedence there i think. check it out on google.

True but the incident was spotted by the referee and he was booked.

FA rules state that retrospective action cannot take place unless the referee didn't see the incident.

That's a bollox argument Tobes. You can't separate the man from the professional footballer as they are one in the same entity.

Mate, they dont get a choice! My only point was as a footballer you expect to be tackled, not bitten.

Interesting article with regards to the punishment that Suarez could face:

Luis Suarez could be handed severe punishment through misconduct loophole, says former FA Compliance Officer Graham Bean

I can separate them quite easily mate. I don't know Ryan Giggs & therefore don't have any knowledge of the mans character, aside from what I've read about him. What I read is that he spent years humping his brothers wife, which makes him a bit of a snake tbh. However, he's been a fantastic professional football who's going to continue playing until he's over 40 years of age in the toughest league on the planet & for that he gets my total respect as a player, not as a man.

But the prick still remains the prick even if he is good at his job. So Suarez is a fool and Giggs is a philanderer but they both play football <ok>

As I said before what would you say about biting on the pitch if this had been Rooney or Terry? You'd be all over that teams board like a rash calling them all the scum on earth.

Whilst you're right about leg breaking challenges doing more damage to a career than a bite we all know it's not just about that don't we. Tackling is part of the game but using your ****ing gnashers isn't. Maybe next time you'd prefer it if he just went around spitting at people as that's going to cause less damage than either a tackle or a bite <ok>

Nah Tobes. The 2 parts of his life cannot be separated. That is just an accommodation that you are making - it doesn't exist.

Sheila Coleman (spokes person for the Hillsborough Justice campaign) not happy on twitter about the 'donation' of the fine money by Suarez.

How can he dictate where his fine money is to go? He's fined by the club, if they're going to make a donation then fine.....so I understand her being upset by the PR element of this tbh.

Wow, openly complaining that he doesn't have a history of violent conduct in England that can be used against him.

Sorry Dave but it does. I can rate someone on a professional level but not like their personality or their moral code. It happens every day of the week.

I'm not doubting that Dave but you can still respect someone for their achievements etc even if they're a prick

Agree with that, though I think Suarez was just being clumsy in his tweet (the English was poor) rather than trying to make PR of it.

  20. I would imagine that's to do with contractual agreements and possibly a tax fiddle too. If its class as a donation it can be taken before tax making it cheaper for the club.
