It's only racist if you are targeting a race. Not all people from Pakistan are Punjabi and not all people from Spain are Hispanic. That's the reason Bethnall was found not to have been racist - he was discriminating against people from outside the UK, i.e. immigrants. It was nationalist, not racist.

Like I said on an earlier thread, maybe Evra is wrong but then again maybe he's telling the truth. Let an investigation begin but I am convinced that the FA will never find Suarez guilty.

however, i don't understand why people have already jumped to the conclusion that suarez did infact say what evra is stating.
the world has changed now. we now live in a place where technology is a nessessity.
all around anfield there was enough technology and other subjects to prove evras case.
tv cameras operated from sky, bbc, etc.
the players and people around the ground could have heard and reported like finnan vs evra 2006.
AND, camera phones from the 20,000 fans sitting at that end of the ground. it's been over 24 hours and yet no-one can find any solid proof. surely, one camera out of 45,000 could have clearly shown suarez say something offensive, especially since he apparently said it more than 10 times.
and if it were true, i really do think that evra would have informed someone with more of an audience than a weekly french newspaper.

I think it is more to do with Saurez' personality. Not many fans from other clubs like Saurez as a person but they think he is a good player. Admittedly, if he was a Utd/City/Chelsea/Arsenal player I would probably hate him too.
