You are miving two very different things up. A race can be defined by genetics. I don't know exactly how many races are supposed to exist but you could probably Google it.
Racism can be defined as words, actions or attitudes that are expressly used to insult or intinidate others who do not belong to the same group as you. So calling a Catholic a left-footer, a Protetant a proddydog, a Frenchman a frog or a German a kraut could in terms of this definition be considered as a racial insult. The same must therefore hold true for the Irish.

Racism is a lazy way of covering all bases here. Racism simply refers to race.

If Saurez had allegedly called Evra a frog would Evra have been insulted by that derogatory reference to French people and claimed he'd been racially abused?
