I was going to point this out too but I think this would be a very bad move for Liverpool. If we agree a deal in principle for him to move in January or next summer, will he try as hard knowing he has a move lined up already? I think lining a move up is one thing but not actually signing it so that the buying could pull out would, despite being risky, be better![]()
Here's the deal as far as LFC are concerned:
1) If you want him in January then you have to pay a premium on the price as we will have a shorter time to find a replacement. Suarez will be involved in the deal BUT we do not commit to the deal until some agreed time in the transfer window. Therefore if he does not try for us he jeopardises his own move.
2) If he stays until June then again the deal will not be signed until the transfer window opens and again only completed if he plays to his potential. The fee will not contain the premium as we will have had a whole season to find a replacement.
3) LFC still retain the right to refuse to sell to clubs that they deem to be their direct rivals.
