If Suarez is still with Liverpool at the beginning of the season there is little room for maneuver for him. He would have to get his acts together.<ok>

All the talk of Suarez and World Cup is a bit silly. It's not as if he's an average footballer in and out of the team. He's one of there best players in the squad, they will take him whatever the circumstance, and he would know that.

Suarez loves football, when his ban is over he will play like nothing has changed.

There is no Guarantees that Uruguay are going to be at the world cup anyway they are struggling a bit and 3 of there last 4 games are against the top 3 teams in the group.

could well be the case... despite EVERYTHING the asshole never put w written request in so he would fight in court to go but never lose his loyalty bonus. there is certainly something in that.

I'm sure Suarez's lawyers will have informed him that there is little or no point in handing in a written transfer request. Suarez signed a new contract less than 1 year ago. Therefore the possibility of buying yourself out does not apply. Add to that the logistics element that Henry has outlined and you have very little likelihood of success. Just to top that off, any judgement against LFC would be likely to be appealed to the CAS as the 'law' is rather unclear.

yes. i think its all about money.

suarez to be crawling back once his suspension is over.

family sent home to uraguay to up the "pain"

i can see a third year of suarez saga to come.

The whole thing now in favour of Liverpool. Buyer wants to buy seller do not want to sell.<ok>

He was unequivocal, he said he's not being sold to anyone this window;

"He won't be sold even if a foreign club comes in because we do not have time to sign a suitable replacement,"

"It's not about finances. So late in the window... we can't replace him. So for football reasons we can't sell"

I can understand the media still continuing to agitate for what they want to see happen. However, John Henry has not just rained on their parade - he's deluged it! The 2 abstracts that you quote witness it. No Real or any other foreign club and certainly no Arsenal. If any of our supporters are still thinking that he won't be here when the window closes then you'd better get you heads into shape. John Henry has spoken and he means it.

Now, what happens after the window closes is another matter. He could be gone in January, it could be at the end of the season (after the World Cup) or it could be that both sides kiss and make-up but I think that unlikely. JH has put the ball firmly in Suarez's court as to how he will be handled until such time as he does leave the club.

Why am I so confident that neither JH or LFC will backtrack on this policy statement? Because they can't afford to. It's as simple as that. FSG/LFC have won the battle. They have restored the power of the club and if they do backdown they will never be taken seriously as owners again. They have shown that they are committed to the club and the players who are contracted to them but they will not be pushed about. In the longer term I believe that is important because of the contract dealings that we will have to undergo with our younger players.

If you notice during his remarks about Arsenal, which are corporately very scathing, the only 'kind' word he has is for Kroenke who he refers to by his first name. I just wonder what dealings those 2 may have in the US and what the implications might be for Wenger and Gazidis?

Excellently put and sums up the situation well. Still, 3rd September is when we find out for sure.

Wenger will be looking for a compulsory purchase order, of sorts. Still wouldn't put ANYTHING past the FA, you know. They ****ing hate us, and if they can do anything for the Arse then they damn well will.

I've said from day one that Luis won't go to Arsenal and I'm sticking to it. There are only two things that would change that opinion:

1) the release clause is what it says on the tin

2) Arsenal change manager

I said yesterday a season long loan to a CL club would be win-win, he gets what he wants and the fans don't have to engage with him at all. But .... we need Coutinho and Aspas to keep playing like they have in pre-season. Opta showed we would have been in 7th without Suarez' goals [still find that hard to believe] - we're not going to get any penalties with him and wouldn't be surprised at a few sendings off this season.

I don't think purely playing in the champions league is what he wants (Im sure he would be more than happy to play for Monaco), and why should we indulge him if it is. He's either sold or he plays for us, I see no upside for loaning him out.

Those that don't want to look at him in our shirt again can!

not saying I'm one of them btw

If he's not going to play, then hard man Henry will no doubt have him cutting the grass & selling golden goal tickets on a match day.

Agreed, he should be the one bringing drinks bottles and the magic sponge/spray on the pitch, maybe get him his own pie van and tea/coffee urn.

I'd imagine they'll force an apology out of Suarez and give him a mild punishment if he were to stay. Despite everything, if you have a player of Suarez's quality then the management will find a way to be able to play him, as it would be extremely difficult not to. Suarez said recently that he'll continue to fight for the shirt, whether this was said to cover his ass or not he does seem like the person who'd get his head down and player rather than sulking.

Of course with that said, I still expect a few more twists. And besides, I don't trust Suarez to do anything so it's just a case of wait and see.

Suarez suitors are likely to look beyond his footballing abilities; what Suarez do not realise is the risk of buying him. If he constantly misses games (apart from injuries and suspensions) he is not going to be good investment. Suarez should look at the mirror and make right what is wrong in him. Not many clubs would treat him better than Liverpool.<ok>

'Practically impossible' for Luis Suarez to leave - PFA chief

Professional Footballers' Association chief Gordon Taylor says it will be "practically impossible" for Luis Suarez to leave Liverpool this month.
Suarez, 26, has been told to train alone after seeking a move to Arsenal.

"With the transfer window expiring, the difficulties of not only selling him to a competitor but also replacing him makes it practically impossible," Taylor said.

Liverpool owner John W Henry has said Suarez will not be sold this summer.
