Yep, nothing to do with the whole handshake thing whilst in the spotlight of a very serious accusation, nothing to do with sticking his fingers up to the fulham fans, diving and admitting to it, punching someone in the face on int. duty, biting someone for a second time in his professional career or saving a ball off the line with his hands and celebrating the missed penalty result in front of millions - it's just because he plays for us. Wake up mate
don't be ridiculous.... it was cos he taunted their fans with a totally different wrist kissing celebration to the wrist kissing celebration he does after every goal.... thier lady dolly bird appointed by thier chairman said we robbed them of winning the FA cup outright that day cos like they would have beaten us 4-1 if we'd not scored then. oh and it was wigan fans he stuck fingers up at.... most of all you forgot he called patrice evra the n word 73 time, and pinched him really badly leaving a boo boo too.
Liverpool hold talks with Suarez's agent in move to keep forward amid bid from Arsenal Source:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...etain-Luis-Suarez-Uruguay-forwards-agent.html
the truth is we arrange a meet with his agent, the brother of pep guardiloa long before arsenal made a fake bid. no story.......
Do clubs really care what louis has done to their players or is it all the media blowing everything out of proportion? I ask as it now seems the chavs are sniffing around.
Liverpool FC hold 'positive' talks with Luis Suarez's agent http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/incoming/liverpool-fc-hold-positive-talks-4888207 ----------------------- This article, along with the 'bid' from Arsenal - I suspect that LFC are leaking these bits of news to force Real to make a bid.
i dont get the forcing Real to make a bid. why cant the club just say if you want him this is the price he is going to cost and give them a deadline.
We probably have but Real Madrid are in such a position that they can do whatever they want - arrogance really. They know every top player (apart from Barca players) will jump at the chance to play for them. I just hope we stick to our guns.
Could be a joint effort between Liverpool and Arsenal. We want to encourage clubs to cough up (if we've accepted that Suarez will be leaving) and Arsenal want to convince their fans that they are making moves for big players (which I sincerely doubt).
As Jimmy said, Real are in a position where they will sit back and weigh up their options. If they think they are going to lose out on a player because someone else has bid then they have to make a decision sooner. The earlier an agreement is reached, the more time we have to spend the income.
I don't get it either. I mean, why get l'Arse involved at all? If we're going to 'lose' Luis, and Gonzalo is looking for first-team football, why not just organise a swap deal plus £10mil for us? Gonzalo's scoring rate at Real exceeds 1 in 2 in the league, he's quick, and he can play across the line in the last third, so he should be able to combine well with the midfield, and provide great competition for Sturridge. Of course, he might not want to come to a non-CL team...
Why settle for a player? If we were targetting that player to begin with then fair enough but I don't agree with accepting a player + cash deal if we weren't interested to begin with. It's a bit like the free transfers; would we attempt to sign them had they not been freebies? IMO, we should sign players who we think will benefit us irrelevant of cost. Being free or cheap should not make it acceptable, that is just an added bonus should it occur. With the Suarez situation, he has three years remaining and we don't have to sell. We should take the 'cough up or shut up' stance IMO Edit: for the record, I don't actually think Arsenal and Liverpool have worked together on this, just that both clubs have a potential benefit to it
**** me, Phil McNulty has written another article about Suarez leaving. This one stating that Suarez's agent claims he still wants to leave, taken from the same article by the Echo (who reported talks were "positive"). No quotes, it's getting beyond a joke now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23238708
As far as I can see there's not a single quote in that article. All there is is this: which is no more than idle speculation based on a rehash of old "news".
Luis Suarez's agent has reiterated the Uruguayan's desire to play for a Champions League club during talks with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and managing director Ian Ayre. Pere Guardiola travelled to Merseyside and held separate meetings with Rodgers and Ayre, which were planned and understood to be amicable. Liverpool have insisted their position has not changed and they want to keep the 26-year-old striker, while Guardiola has not submitted an official transfer request on behalf of Suarez. Suarez is currently on an extended break after playing for Uruguay in the Confederations Cup in Brazil. The player, however, has given a series of interviews this summer in which he has expressed his desire for Champions League football and it is believed Guardiola relayed that message again to Liverpool's hierarchy in Monday's discussions. Liverpool have already rejected a £30m offer from Arsenal for Suarez, who has spoken publicly this summer about his disenchantment with life in England and what he regards as unfair treatment from the media. Suarez, who is currently serving a 10-match suspension for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic at Anfield last season, has been consistently linked with a move to Real Madrid. It would take an offer close to the £50m Liverpool received from Chelsea for Fernando Torres in January 2011 to make them even consider selling the forward. The Merseyside club, however, have established a close working relationship with the highly respected Guardiola, brother of Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola, during Suarez's troubled time at Anfield and have not given up hope that he will resume his career in the Premier League once he has served his ban. Suarez has scored 51 goals in 96 appearances for the Reds since joining them in January 2011 for £22.7m. As yet, there has been no firm expression of interest in him from Real Madrid, with Arsenal having made the only firm move, although Chelsea have also been touted as considering a bid for Suarez. And, given his repeated complaints about his life in England, it would be a surprise if he even considered staying in the Premier League - and if Liverpool would consider selling Suarez to another English club.
