Many Uruguayans have come out to defend Suarez. Obviously biting is acceptable in that country?

"The Uruguayan FA also claim that images of bite marks on Chiellini’s shoulder had been Photoshopped to make them appear worse than they were. “If every player starts showing the injuries he suffers and they open inquiries for them everything will be way too complicated in the future,” Balbi said. “We’re going to use all the arguments possible so that Luis gets out in the best possible way.

“You shouldn't forget that we’re rivals of many and we can be for the hosts [Brazil] in the future.
This does not go against what might have happened, but there’s no doubt that Suárez is a stone in the shoe for many.”

So are they claiming that FIFA are cheating?

He has given FIFA something they can get their teeth into !, he mouth's off too often!, his fan(g)s are losing faith now!, he has teething problems !, has bitten of more than he can chew!. they should take his teeth out and give him dentures, then make him play with no dentures during a match!

The English. Italian and Brazilians have a vendetta against Uruguay apparently , and there were other incidents in the game of note so Chiellini says.

The fact that he was holding his teeth surely means that even he is conceding that his teeth made contact with the blokes shoulder - I would have thought that they would be banging on about it being accidental instead of denying it happened.

I've got a feeling he is going to get off with this or they'll just do him for an attempted head butt and ban him for a game.

I find Uruguay's argument in his defence childish, embarrassing and downright hilarious! If they are so desperate for him to play that they are willing to making utter fools of themselves then good luck to them! If they genuinely believe what they are saying, then shame on them!!!!

It's like finding one of your kids, with his face covered in chocolate, saying, "No dad, I never went in the Quality Street tin."

It's also shameful that the same Liverpool supporters who were boasting about 'their' player, at the World Cup, are now saying it's nowt to do with them <doh>

Biting is the same as spitting IMO. It doesn't cause damage, but it is disgusting and it is wrong. The Italians are no saints, mind. Remember that lad who verbally wound Zidane up so bad he got the heed right in the chest?

Massice cop out. If he did that in the Prem it would have been more fitting (the punishment given, not the punishment fifa gave).
