From Wiki:
… 2004–05 season that Lita really established himself in the first team. That year he scored 29 goals in all competitions for club and one U21 international goal taking his tally to 30 for the season.

… in 2004/05, Elliott enjoyed a fantastic season netting 27 goals in the league (which earned him the golden boot, albeit shared with Dean Windass) as well as 2 in the cup, while also starring for Northern Ireland.

So Elliot got 3 more league goals (hence the Golden Boot), but it was as I remembered that Lita just pipped him by one goal in all competitions.

Edit; Hang on Lita scored for England under 21, but surely Elliot got a few for Northern Ireland that season, so he probably did score more.

Wow my memory served me well with saying Lita scored 29 goals!

Elliot scored for Northern Ireland against Austria in October 2004 in a WCQ while Lita's goal that season was only at Under 21 level, so I reckon the final count-up was; Elliot 30 and Lita 29.

Some great memories in that video, thanks for sharing, his name will be talked about for a long time.

Stu was definitely my fave City player.

You always had that feeling, which we haven't had for some time since, that we could just score at any time during the match, just because of him.

And his celebration was a good 'un.

My favorite player of all time. He knew where the goal was. Watching that just made me shiver.

He's up there with the greatest ever City goalscorers...even Waggy & Chilton would, I think, agree. Imagine how many he'd have scored that season he was injured. Top player.

Nah MK Dons was the best come back. 2-1 down in the 90th min and Green and Keane scored to make it 3-2. I think it may of been October/November 2004.
